Why did Justice Haynes leave again?

Why leave to go to Michigan to only end up at Georgia Tech?

He’s the one transfer I actually don’t blame. We did a horrible job managing him. He stuck around after Saban left only for us to absolutely waste him.
Instead, Milroe was our entire run game and we didn’t use our RBs at all. He gave the new staff a shot and it didn’t work at all. Can’t fault him for going to offenses that will feature a talented back. I still cheer for Justice

Agreed. It was good to see him and the Bond kid get an injury.
I hope something like that happens to Caleb Downs "Syndrome" in the NFL.

In all seriousness, I understand it. He comes to Bama to run the ball and become yet another Bama great RB but we refuse to go that route with DeBoer so far.

I don’t think you can compare those players with Haynes.
Downs and Bond left as soon as Saban left. Had no loyalty. Haynes gave it a shot. Would you want to play RB for 2024 Alabama basically being a lead blocker for Milroe as he fumbles?
How about 2025 Alabama where you’re hit as soon as you touch the ball because you’re Oline is anemic?

Kid had a lot of talent but by all accounts was SAWFT.

Realistically, Haynes is a kid who grew up in Atlanta with an NFL dad. I think it showed a lot of loyalty to stay for one year of DeBoer when he has NFL talent and didn’t know how a new staff would feature him.
I appreciate him for giving it a shot. Sucked to see him leave but he didn’t transfer in conference or go to OSU to ring chase.

Because in 2024 we converted him into a fullback because Milroe needed a lead blocker for that beautiful QB keeper spam offense to work.

Who knows? I remember people on this board calling Jahmiry Gibbs soft. The last elite talent at RB Alabama recruited out of high school was Trey Sanders and he had some God awful luck. I do think EJ is the real deal though. frick it's been a long time

I sincerely hope you are not more than ~14 years old, considering what you said/how you think. If you are, do you have a similar mindset about your former co-workers that left for greener pastures? Or just about dudes you have zero personal connection to or interaction with, over something that is purely entertainment for you, and for them, their livelihoods?

Haynes finished with 19 carries for 64 yards, and a long run of 11 yards. 3.4 avg and 1 catch for 4 yards.
This guy has twice left top programs to chase a paycheck. That is his prerogative. But im not gonna act like he is some great player or a missing piece to a championship puzzle.
He's a plodding RB that doesnt give great effort. We have seen enough 19 for 64 performances lately that we dont have to be nostalgic for Justice Haynes.

I gotta disagree with saying “some people” thought Gibbs was soft. I don’t recall anyone saying that and if there was anyone, they were one out 10,000 of our fans. Gibbs was a great RB.
As for Haynes, I was never really impressed. He had/has good size but I felt like he seldom ran hard and usually ran kind of tentative, almost like he was afraid of getting hurt.
Like 99% of the guys who leave Bama, I wish him well but I never thought he was a huge loss.
