He'd be a bridging solution at best. After success at LU, he'd have a major HC job in 1-2 yrs at UA getting to benefit from their talent. He carries baggage, but Saban was already willing to bring him on board previously.

Phil Longo wouldn't be an awful hire. The dysfunctionality of Ole Miss was part of his issues there, but has excelled early at UNC.

Kent St's offensive success has been interesting as well.

It will certainly be interesting to hear what names emerge.

I'd wonder if Herman's ego could even be tampered to come on board to rehab with Saban. He was a tremendous OC at tOSU.

Hell no to Longo. He was a disaster in Oxford. Reminded me of Nuss. I'm hearing Harbitch to Detroit which would free up Gattis. Would he get another look?

I'd look at Kevin Wilson at Ohio State too.

Michigan offense didn’t look effective or creative to me the few times I watched them . Pass on Gattis

Gattis is a glorified WR Coach that got hired at Michigan as OC because he's a very good recruiter that they "stole" from Bama. 10/10 times, give me a good playcaller over recruiter at offensive coordinator.

Not sure if he's been mentioned yet, but a big no to Dan Enos as well. Bama's offense has evolved too much to take several steps back. He had 2 opportunities for the OC job at Bama, but think those are looong passed him now.

Freeze is never going to coach in the SEC again. Sankey wouldn't even let Saban hire him as an intern.

On a side note, why does the SEC have any authority on whom we hire?

Because you don’t bite the hand that feeds you. It a mutually beneficial relationship, no need to eff it up over s scumbag like Freeze. There’s a reason he was passed over by Auburn and SC. Auburn will hire or recruit any freaking body. The fact that Freeze was never a serious candidate for their job despite his record and record against Saban should speak volumes about his status.

I like running a pro-style offense, so whoever fits that description.

This is just stupid. He's averaging more YPG this year than sark, and 43 PPG. He'd be unstoppable with Bama's talent. This isn't Oxford or Chapel Hill.

frick it. Let's hire Tom Herman as OC. He was an excellent OC at Ohio State and would kill it here with our talent.

I really think he’s the best OC available. Plus it would drive Texas insane when he’s successful and they don’t give Sark time to turn Texas around. Just won’t be patient enough.

Longo is also averaging over 7 yards per play this season. Incredible offensive production.

My only knock on Longo is what happened at Ole Miss. AJ Brown and Metcalf and your offense wasn't on fire? What happened?

I'd imagine Freeze being fired in the middle of his first year there under the cloud of scandal and then suddenly having an unqualified boss like Matt Luke who he didn't sign up to work for probably had a lot to do with it. No one works well in that kind of environment.

Longo has the annoying quality of getting too cute and overthinking things, especially short yardage. We’d lose our collective shite the first time he lost a game by attempting a pass on 4th and 1. He can put up nice numbers, but if he gets in a tight spot like he did last night in the Orange Bowl, he tends to shoot himself in the foot and holds the trigger down. No thanks, hard pass from me.

I'll be curious to see how long Bill O'Brien stays in T-Town this week. There is no doubt in my mind that Saban/Sark/Golding reached out to few ppl around league to get a reading on OSU. Bill Could help out with that.

The Panthers are owned by a billionaire that just dropped an 8.5M contract on Matt Rhule and 1M+ on Brady. We're not getting into a bidding war with that. He also doesn't like recruiting and wants to be an NFL coach.

We're not getting Brady.
