Was discussing the upcoming season with some buddies last night and we were talking about players we were excited to watch this coming season. We had a couple Auburn and UGA guys but the group was mostly Bama.

Mine were Young and Latu on offense, as well as Anderson and Tim Smith on defense.

Was interested in who else y’all were looking forward to seeing

Depends on what you mean. I'll be watching Will Anderson closely because he's going to be an entertaining monster.

But if you mean guys we're less sure of... Koolaid if he can get the #2 corner spot. Whichever freshman start on the O Line. Brian Robinson and whether he can hold down the #1 spot over the other backs. Whichever freshman WR breaks out.

The kicking game. We need a punter to step up. Will be very important with the defense shaping up to be excellent to have great field position especially early when the offense finds its identity. Can Reichard continue to be automatic ? Also, who will return kick offs and punts ? Offensively, the right side of the offensive line. We assume that Cohen will start at guard. Will J.C. Latham be as advertised at tackle ? The running backs will be interesting because we assume that Robinson is the starter but the younger backs are more talented. Will Trey Sanders be healthy ? On defense, will the coaches do the right thing and start Tim Smith ? He's a better player than Dale and it's not close. Will the coaches rotate Moody in at linebacker ? He's a much better player than people think. The secondary will be a no fly zone.

Our DL depth is going to be good this year. We could plug in 5-6 guys and not miss a beat.

I am not as much interested in who starts at RB but who sees the most snaps. Brob may get the senior nod to start due to him staying for another year but I assume one of the young guys will be the work horse.

BRob starts, but who becomes the go-to guy? Lots of candidates back there, Jace still my predicted breakout guy. Is Trey Sanders back? Is he healthy? Is Metchie ready to be option #1 at WR? Who else steps up? Is Hall the budding star he flashed in spring? Do we have another Waddle type? Does the defense pick up where they left off or is Golding back on the hot seat? Does a punter step forward from the bevy of candidates? How well does Bryce plug and play? How well do the new coaches gel with the players and staff?

Lots of stuff to watch and evaluate but I'm confident the results will be good. Maybe not 2020 good since that was an historic offensive juggernaut, but good enough.

I like Jase but Roydell Williams really looks terrific to me. I saw someone compare his build and running style to Frank Gore. It's a pretty good comp in my opinion. He's going to be a factor.

I think it can be someone you’re thinking will breakout, a newcomer you’re just intrigued by, or just a player that’s “your guy.” Everyone has a “that’s my dude” I think.

For me, I look for Latu to be a formidable weapon, I’m interested in Young’s development, Anderson is almost self explanatory, and I’ve been a big Tim Smith guy since I first watched his HS film. This year Smith is prob wins the “that’s my dude” award.

Smith can be an absolutely dominant player if the staff cuts him loose. He's a first round talent. If he can prove to be effective against the run and create pass rush then he needs to be on the field as much as possible. He showed flashes of his potential last year.

we are what we thought we were.

the schedule until the end of the month is rough too. The Mets are really f'n us by being so shitty as well.

Play him as a 1i Technique and let him rip...This team is going to Blitz MORE than any team since 2016.They are THAT experienced. And they are going create HAVOC and raise hell from all 3 levels.Especially if LRay,Tim Smith,or Phil Mathis can individually become ELITE..1 or all 3...

Gimme Jameson Williams. You can all but guarantee that great a runningback will emerge out of the group we have. So imo, having a quality receiver step up to compliment Metchie and Billingsley will be the difference between our offense being elite versus very good

I think people are really overlooking Chris Allen. I think he might turn out to be the most dominant pass rusher on the team. I don't ever hear his name mentioned

Most interested in seeing the OLBs unit as a whole. Obviously you have Anderson and Allen, but I really want to see who steps up and gets time behind them. Braswell looked really damn good during A-Day, and there’s so much other talent as well.

If I had to pick an individual players; I’d go with Christian Harris. I really want to see an alpha in the middle of the defense running it like a well oiled machine. Been a while since we’ve had someone with the right combo of talent, knowledge and leadership in the middle of the D.
