I was a student - don't remember a second of the game. Woke up on my couch late afternoon / early evening (I assume I left before the game was over).
Went out and met some friends at a bar. Didn't realize we had lost until I overheard people talking about it later that night.

Telling everyone. "See, I told you we should have kept Shula!"

I was a kid and was listening to it on the radio with my dad.

I was listening to it on the radio. But for those of us a lot older the worst game was in 1972 with Bear Bryant Coaching referred to as "Punt Bama Punt" Alabama leading by 13 with less than ten minutes to go. Auburn blocks two punts and scores on both and then intercepts pass to seal the game. That one made me want to pull over by the side of the road and puke. Memories you would rather forget. So goes life.

I was in the stands, on the visiting side/East side. So, got to sit in the sun side getting cooked while watching Alabama get cooked.
Exiting the stadium at the end, with the other people who sat and watched the whole thing, was an experience. Just a bunch of aimless wanderers, wondering if reality existed.

This game didn't break me nearly as much as the State home loss in 2006 did
I remember being at that game and on the first drive of the game, we had 2nd and goal from the 2. We got nothing on 2nd and 3rd down. 4th and goal from the 2, Shula sends Christensen out to kick a FG. Tim Castille and a couple of others slammed their helmets down and stormed down the bench away from Shula. They were pissed that he didn't go for the TD. You knew right then, if you didn't know already, that he had lost the team.

Yep. I was always a Bama fan, and Bama was my first recruiting letter. Things didn’t work out on the big stage so I went to ULM. We just played well that day and caught Bama at an in opportune time. It’s a great memory, but Bama is a completely different animal now compared to then lol.
