Brown probably won't be back until the playoffs with a turf toe injury.

Cotton is not the answer, one weak link on the OL just destroys everything.

Could Womack play LG? He isn't the best tackle, but I think he would be a great guard.

Move Ross to LG and Casher to C?

Got to do something for Auburn and Georgia, Cotton is going to get Tua hurt.

From what I’m told turf toe minimum is 3 weeks. I don’t know how severe it is though. We need an answer there but the problem is Guard is not an easy fill. It takes more than brute strength.

It's possible he could come back for Auburn, but more than likely GA could be earliest. This given that the report is he was in a walking boot last week. That indicates he was dealing with Turf Toe already which didn't heal in the true minimum of a week. I watched replays. Cotton was not as big of a problem as our right side being a couple of turnstiles.

Womack at LG. He is an outstanding run blocker.

You already know we are stuck with Cotton. It is what it is. He wasn't that bad run blocking yesterday.

It will be a point of interest for Auburn, I’d burn the TE on that area for the game if needed. We don’t need Tua to take a nasty hit.

Not to be insensitive to the pain of turf toe but can’t they shoot up the toe before each game and just let him play? I mean sprained ligaments in a toe seems like such a minor thing if they can just control the pain.

And sure as Hell, just like the corndogs and cowbells, they will do everything they can to put Tua out. Low blows are nothing new for the Barn. It would make their year to beat Bama, and if not win at least put Tua out for the rest of the season..

No no no. Turf toe is a beast to manage. If you reinjure or don't let turf toe heal correctly it's a career ender.

There has been a ton of NFL players over the years that have had this end their career. It's a cumulative injury that can get out of hand fast.

Here's an article from SI in the late 80's about how it ended Mark Bavarro's career. It's a nasty injury.

Looks like Browns turf toe is pretty bad, he may not be 100% until next spring.

. At least we are not rushing him to come back and making sure it heals properly. The best program in all of college football can surely figure the LG position out in 2 weeks, right?

Well, if Cotton is the best option then we are in trouble.

All roads lead to Cotton, friend. Insert Womack and leave Cotton out and watch as one of the OL instantly suffers a foot injury. Cotton now; Cotton forever.

Looks like Cotton graded out the worst of the OL during the State game and was terrible at run blocking.

How is there no one else that can play LG?

FWIW, both guard spots have been weaknesses this year outside of Brown in his two starts. Maybe Leatherwood is just more suited for tackle?

I'm not sure an 86 year old, big tittied Bourbon St singer is the answer at LG.

This is demonstrably incorrect. Bama has won 5 of the last 9 championships, and 3 of those championship years we definitely had at least one "weak link" on the Oline.

2017: We literally just won a championship with Cotton at RG.

2015: We won a championship with Dominick "False Start" Jackson at RT.

2009: Drew Davis at RT was serviceable at best.

And in 2016, we were 1 second from winning another championship, and Oline wasn't the problem. And Cotton started on that Oline as well. Dallas Warmack wasn't a complete player when he got in either.

In short, I agree that at times our Oline has looked other-worldly this year, and we grimace when it's not that. But this Oline is easily top 5 in the country, no matter who's at LG, and the bitching and moaning around here is sickening.

95% of head coaches would murder a litter of puppies on live TV to have this Oline, and a lot of you are acting like insufferable children, demanding X and chiding the coaching staff/players for Y. Discuss the game, discuss the team, chime in with how you see it - but have some fricking respect - and appreciation. And shite, man, enjoy the ride.

This is not just at you, remaster916. I just copied your statement above to post. This is aimed at half the board.
