Biggest questions I have

1: Who does he retain if anyone. Does Byrne give him the ability to pick his staff? I think he keep a few. T-rob, Bala, now sure who else.

2: What does this mean for our players? The elephant in the room in this question is about our QB room, but in general, will it be open competition across the board for all positions, or will the starters hold their spots?

I'm going to miss CNS, but I'm also excited to see who we get and what our future looks like.

I think it’ll be an open competition now.

If I'm the head coach I'm hiring my own staff!
I'm sure he will check the depth charts and all but I bet certain positions will be wide open.

I think first and foremost it means the schedule for 2024 looks a lot tougher.

Given the enormity of the job I think the new hire gets whatever he wants. As to competition, I hate to say it but there will be more negotiation than competition. It’s just the way it is now.

It was already at least the #2 toughest even with Saban.

Frankly, I hope it means the real possibility of getting some really good/smart coordinators. I thought Steele did a good job but Rees was (IMO) only so so.

I also hope it means there is genuine competition at ALL positions. I’ll always treasure the memories CNS brought but the idea of always starting a senior when a younger player is clearly better needs to go.

I hope every returning offensive line starter has to fight to keep their starting jobs. I don’t care if any of them get beat out by a true freshman or a walk on, we need the best out there.

I guess the biggest thing I’m looking forward to is hopefully getting a better OL coach, a better WR coach and a better OC.

What recruits that was just signed will leave? That's the biggest question.

With the portal closed, will be hard to make up for losses. Most major high school recruits are signed.

Absolute worst time to have a coaching change.

Seriously?

No head coach worth a shite takes the job unless he can hire whoever he wants.

Obviously you've forgotten the date we hired Mike Shula. NOW THAT was the absolute worst time for a coaching change.
