Only thing there is - Owens wasn't 100%, but he was a paid professional trying to win the biggest game of his career.
I know Waddle will want to play because he is a competitor, but if he's clearly not 100% and there is any chance it could frick his leg up going forward....I'd imagine they are going to tell him they appreciate his competitiveness but he can't play.
Not saying that'll happen - but if he was in that same situation Owens was at Alabama there is a 0.0% chance he would be playing.

Unfortunately it was literally the same injury, down to the way it happened*.
* Except for the fact that TP's was in BDS in front of 82,000 while mine was on a practice field in East Tennessee during 2-a-days.

Me too. He seems like an awesome dude. I'd love for him and Devonta to go for 400 yards and 6 TD's.

Again, don’t misconstrue me. If he’s 100 percent he should play. He shouldn’t get out there if he isn’t. This is for those saying, “a 75 percent Waddle is better than Bolden.” I do have faith in the medical staff though that they will not let him out there if he is going to put himself at risk.

I completely agree. If I’m remembering correctly, Saban has said on multiple occasions that if Waddle wasn’t 100%, he wouldn’t play. Hoping that a good week of practice gets him ready for a huge game and a NC win, but if he’s not completely healthy, even at 75-80%, I have no problem with Jalen or the staff deciding it’s not in his best interest to be out there.
But... I don’t see any reason to trot him out at practice this week if Saban doesn’t think he’s close enough to make an evaluation. I don’t buy the decoy or mind game stuff. He’s either playing and balling out or he’s not going to see the field. Based on the information and videos released this week, #17 comin’ and OSU can’t do shite to stop him.

I think this has been the plan all along and Waddle is further along than most realize.

I had some faith he’d be back but I remember in the SECCG there was a shot of him getting down off the bench and he did it VERY gingerly. At that point I figured there was no way.

People read way too much into that. Dude jumped off the bench and made a funny face. If he was overly concerned about his ankle he wouldn't have been hopping off benches.

Waddle changes the dynamic of the entire game plan for Ohio State. You can’t double cover DeVonta if Waddle is able to to full speed. You have to keep a safety deep at all time to prevent one of them from getting behind the defense... Waddle takes pressure off Smith AND takes a defender away from the line against the run. If he plays we should be able to do whatever we want offensively. Waddle is the type of dude to change the score from 35 to 50 just by what he does to the defense for the rest of the team.

Waddle, Smitty, Metchie and Billingsley catching passes would make any defense shite their pants.
