Thought Sims played great and Coker was okay. I'm hopeful next week that we'll let Sims go deep a few times like they let Coker do this week. Then again, if the screen continues to work, why change?

Sims going away is our best option, but I am afraid teams in the sec will put an end to the success of the short passing game.LSU is going to load the box to stop the run, if we can't throw down field consistently we will never be able to run the ball.

I think that even if LSU stacks the box, we will be able to run.

Name someone who played better as a Sophomore. I'll wait.

This is literally impossible to answer, seeing as how he has only played one game so far in his sophomore year.

I will agree that he has that "it" factor, and has a chance to be the best CB under Saban.

Eddie was very impressive albeit against inferior receivers unlike the rest of the sec. He will get a steady dose of Dural.

He owned Treadwell last year. I like his chances.

Eddie is physical. Gotta love that.

I just wish he'd wrap a little more physically

This seems to be a problem beyond Eddie. Half the 'tackles' are somebody trying to truck the frick out of someone (which I appreciate), but that doesn't work that well if you don't actually wrap up.

This is a growing trend across all of college football, IMO.

Short passing game won't be stopped. Opposing DBs still have to match up with our receivers, and it will be tough for anyone to match up with cooper (so he should get open often)

Plus we still have a pretty good run game. Having 3 studs to pick from isnt too bad. That run game will set up the short passing game, and the rest will take care of itself.

I really think Kiffin is trying to build Blake's confidence with all of the short passes this early in the season. We will likely see the playbook open a little more with each game. Opposing coaches will have limited film to use in preparing for us. By the time we get to the thick of our SEC schedule, our offensive play calling will likely be wide open.

I noticed Coker was throwing the ball vertically most of the time while sims still threw 90% of his passes horizontally to the flat. I'm just afraid that's all he can do. The WR's are making both QB's stats look better than they have played.

That's not all he can do. He nearly completed a deep pass to Christion Jones, and that was Jones' fault, not Blake's fault.

Its like that one play where Coker forced the deep throw when Cooper was wide open underneath, and would have gotten a ton of yards had Coker passed to him.

Well Blake made that check on the same type of play yesterday, and got a big gain.

Blake knows what he his doing significantly better than Coker. I don't mind if he throws shorter if its the right read. He is good at getting it to our playmakers, and I am cool with that.

There is a noticeable fluidity when Sims is running the offense that just isnt present when Coker is back there.

But the other WR(forget who it was) was past his coverage and if on target it would have been a TD. So I am not to concerned with the choice. I mean 6 or huge gain and maybe 6. If both are completed I take the easy 6. He just over threw the ball.

I wish they would test Sims arm downfield. A little concerned if he is the guy but yet can not make that throw past 20 yards. It almost seems the staff knows Coker can make those short passes but want to work on his accuracy for the vertical plays with the hope he becomes the guy.

I mean right now the O needs to click and gain confidence and develop a rhythm and they do that with Sims making the simple passes and letting the playmakers create yards. It is working but I feel in the future against the better teams on our schedule it will require our QB to go down field and be able to make big plays.
