OK Andre (Ware), the game is over. You can ease off the love now...

Despite the nature of the passes, who would have guessed Sims would be 35/46, 464 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT, and 1 rushing TD?

76% ain't too bad no matter the difficulty of the passes.

Yep and his accuracy on the short passes has been very good. He's also thrown a few really nice intermediate passes with touch.

Sims has really solid numbers to this point. Probably better than anyone expected. Over 10 YPA as well.

That's as much on our ridiculous WR corps (Cooper, really) as it is him. Not that I'm complaining.

True.

Cooper is gonna shatter every damn receiving record we have.

If Cooper can even come near his current game average and avoid injury I think he will be a Top 10, maybe Top 5 pick.

Sims is our guy.

Coker needs more development, but moreso needs more time to learn the offense.

Oh for sure. He's so polished. You see the 6'5" 235lb receiver who jumps out of the stadium and has great speed, but then you miss out on the 6'1" 210lb guy with great speed and just knows how to get open. I hope he ends up with a solid QB, because if he gets someone who can get him the ball, he's gonna put up big time numbers.

He obviously WON'T keep up his average, but I tweeted this earlier:

quote:

Amari Cooper is on pace for 188 catches and 2,393 yards if he keeps his current averages and played 15 games. Won't happen, but fun to see

Won't come close to that, but still it's fun to think about.

I just don't understand all of the dumbing down we are having to do with our offense just to get formations right and get plays off in time. This is supposed to be the #2 team in the country, and it looks like a chinese fire drill half the time. Yes, it's a new system. But we're talking about remedial Football 101. Get the call, get lined up, run the play. Jake got better as the game went on. The sack at the half was atrocious and inexcusable. I'm not convinced either of the QBs are mensa candidates. Roll Tide.

Think about this.

First game: Sims has trouble getting things set.

Second game: He does a LOT better.

First game: Coker has trouble getting things set.

Second game: ???

I think both will look even better next week. Southern Miss is a horrible team, but I think both QBs will be settled in and we'll destroy em.

Couldn't watch the game live due to a parade so I just got finished watching it.

Blake looked really, really good. He was fricking spinning it. He appeared to be very comfortable running this offense.

Coker started off terribly. He looked much better as the game went on. His mechanics are slower than Blake's so the WR screens weren't as effective as Sims'.

Sims is our guy right now. He just looked in command and his accuracy is very impressive especially considering where it was in the Spring. I would like to see some more down the field passes but I think our weaker opponent had more to do with the play calling than a limitation of Blake's ability. I don't think our staff wants to give Florida any thing to prepare for down field.

Coop was a beast as usual. He's on pace for 140+ catches and 1500 yards.

Eddie Jackson is a stud. He may be the best CB Saban has had at Alabama.

Loved Rashaan Evans coming off the edge late.

Technically he's on pace for over 180 catches and over 2300 yards if we play 15 games.

He had a great game, but I don't know if I'm ready to say that.

He's gonna be really good.

I'm sitll hoping TB can "get it" and start opposite of EJ. Then move Cyrus to Star, we're in Nickel almost all the time anyway. Put Geno at FS and Jarrick at Money. Boom.

The only problem with that is you lose Nick Perry. Can we afford to lose him? His knowledge of the D on the back end is very important. He's not the athlete Geno is, but it's hard to replace a fifth year Senior who makes secondary calls.

ETA: Wow, 20000th post.

Milliner was pretty good as a sophomore. Kareem was pretty good as a sophomore. Dre did too. What exactly has EJ done that makes him better than any of those guys?

He's physical in the run game. He sticks to his man like glue with a bum knee no less.

Milliner. Honestly the only reason he wasn't an All American in 2011 was because no one noticed how awesome he was because they still thought of him as 2010 Milliner.
