“Jaylen’s rehab is coming along,” Saban said. “He’s doing dry-land running, still working to try to get back. But he is making progress. We’re happy to see him be able to at least go out there and do some running and do some things, but he’s not back in practice yet.”

I know the BOL report says JW decided not to rush it but I got a feeling that if we beat ND then #17 will be on the field playing in the NCG

He had a REALLY good freshman year IMO and I thought he was gonna be the next great DL....and he has just been nothing but hurt ever since. Doesn’t help that Cochran put too much weight on him either

Ive spoke on the weight issue several times and it even has slowed down Justin (92) to a degree..But he has looked much better of late as he seems to be rounding out to a better weight. But 18 will have a up hill battle because 31,48 and 47 are balling out..But yes we do need Ray because we dont have anybody other than davis and king that fills that build combo size and speed.
A ready to go 18 on passing downs with 31 would be nice against ND,Osu and clemson

What did 18 do to his elbow to be out this long? Doesn’t make sense. Just throw a brace on and man up! Lol

His entire arm was knocked off at the elbow. Had to pick it up and see it back on. Will take a while to heal.

I’m not going to bet on Waddle playing at all in the national championship until I see actually see him running routes during a real play in that game. I remember in the past when other guys we’re rumored to be coming back from injury to play in the national championship, and then they didn’t.

Who was that? Can you remind us?

Off the top of my head is Christian Miller against Clemson in 2018. Miller may have played 1 or 2 plays, if that. I believe there was also talk of Terrell Lewis playing in that same game, but he didn’t even dress out.

Maybe I'm wrong but I seem to remember Miller actually making at least one great play in that game.

Nope. From Miller's bio on Rolltide.com:

quote:

Oklahoma: Had his game cut short after suffering a leg injury on the first drive of the second half ... was productive during his time on the field, finishing with one sack (-5 yards) and consistently pressuring Kyler Murray off the edge during the first half. Clemson: Spent the week rehabbing for a possible to return to action but was unable to make it on the field in the title game.

OK. Who was injured but came back and played against UGA in 2017? That's who I'm getting mixed up.

You're probably thinking of Terrell Lewis:

quote:

Clemson: Had an immediate impact, playing at full strength for the first time since the season opener ... recorded a pair of tackles while breaking up one pass ... nearly intercepted a pass, coming off the edge and jumping to block the Kelly Bryant throw but was not able to secure the ball. Georgia: Made his first career start and took advantage of the opportunity ... totaled a career-high seven tackles and added one sack (-13 yards) ... the sack in overtime thwarted the Bulldogs' drive, forcing a field goal.
