Yeah but we also havent played for 2 National Championships since 2013

Recent success doesn’t always indicate the prestige of a program. Butler went to the Championship game in back-to-back seasons, but a low assistant replaced Stevens at Butler.

They’re definitely a better job, but they’re not that much better. Their recent success was due to Beilein being a great coach more than being a historically dominant and prestigious program. They have good basketball history, just not near the blue blood amount required to catch those guys ears.

We can’t compare every coach to Saban. Oats was this way at Buffalo too. He’s blunt and speaks his mind about everything. There’s no “coach talk” from him. Saban is a mixture of “Coach talk” and being blunt.

Besides, it’s not ok to expect to at least be in the top 20 percent of teams in the country? If he said Final Four, be amazed. Saying he expects to go Dancing every year is a standard all Alabama basketball fans and players and coaches should accept and expect. It used to be that way.

He also said it is "unacceptable." He didn't say it would never happen. He said that is not what he expects, and if it happens it will be considered failure.

I don't think there's anything wrong with saying that.

Seems like a great situation for both sides (Billy and Michigan) to get together and make it work. Could get ugly if Billy tells them no.

I guess some writers think they have to throw Beard into every coaching search but it is just so lazy.

Bama is just as good of a job as Michigan, who has trouble getting instate prospects let alone being considered a blue blood. Hate to see Belein leave for NBA, b/c he's one of my fave coaches---love seeing him develop under the radar players into serious contenders. I'm surprised there's no rumor about snagging his son. Him leaving Michgian late def. screwed them over somewhat but I think Yaklich can do a decent job, esp. if he's paired with an offensive savant.

Good to see Bama isn't the only one with delusional fans (judging by that dream list).

Well the good thing is Sexton gets to play under Beilein now. I’m excited to see who the Cavs draft and how they do under a great coach

Michigan basketball has had some good runs in recent years and I don’t think I can ever recall them being very bad but they aren’t a power either. They live in the shadow of Sparty and do well considering but it’s not like they are leaps and bounds better than Alabama if you take a long term view. The big gap between the two programs is a recent development due to our bumbling hires.

Drew literally took that straight from Cecil’s article yesterday and pretended a source told him. He even misspelled Juwan Gary like Cecil’s article did. They both said Rashaun Gary
