It'll be fun to watch Ty getting to start in 2025. I expect a Mac Jones 2020 type season from him...but 2024 is the Milroe show.

He'll be in a tough QB battle. Keelon Russel is no joke, and in all likelihood will be a future Heisman winner. He's the best QB in a class full of elite QBs.

If Keelon comes early in the Spring, there's a legit chance of him winning the job.

Isn’t it a little too early to start this argument?

I’m no Milroe defender, but based off the game yesterday Milroe is the better option at starter. If the Oline injury had not happened he possibly would have looked even better.

Here's the problem: It's obvious to anyone that Ty Simpson is smarter, and a more natural passer.
It is? Based on what, all the games he's won and all the tough situations he's been in with the game on the line?

Eat a sack lunch off my taint. You’re on a message board, and this thread is 5 pages deep of (mostly) good discussion. If differing opinions make you uncomfortable, go to TideFans or BamaOnLine.

You’re on the SECRant.

Your original post offered nothing but click bait thread title with little to no discussion or points to support your claim. Just a simple "that is all". That's the very definition of a thread with a click bait title meant to shock people. There's differing of opinions and open discussion, but you're original post wasn't that. If you can't see that, then I don't what to tell you. You seem awful combative for someone that says they like to hear differing opinions. Sit back, enjoy the show... It's going to be a wild year. Roll tide.

If you're a politics buff like me, then you probably can't help but notice the politics at play here. Has anyone mentioned that? How Coach would lose the lockerroom if he were to bench Milroe?

That's what's keeping Ty off the field. And it's also what's keeping Cade Carruth off the field. I saw a lot from him last night. On the sideline. He looked the part. I think he almost drew a targeting call though because he didn't hit anyone. Might be a bit of a hothead but I like that in a QB!

It's possible. The players love Milroe and this is a new staff. We're in a transition year.

If we need to start Milroe in order to get through this season, and have a smooth transition, then it's worth it. It's not like Milroe sucks. He's fully capable of taking this team to the final four and beyond..

But yeah, it's pretty hard to bench Milroe at this point with the letter "C" on his jersey. Tbh I liked Saban's way of naming the captains at the end of the season.

Blake locked onto Amari Cooper and if he didn't have his read he was SOL. Against Ohio State he threw three picks, including one where Miller didn't even have to move and Kiffin was signaling a touchdown because the receiver was wide open. He just completely blew the play.

Coker was a far better quarterback than Sims, and he played incredibly efficient after Ole Miss while making all the right line calls and reads. His Clemson game was pretty much perfect.

There's a reason Sims never even touched the NFL as a quarterback and Coker at least made it at the end of the draft as a practice squad guy. Bracket Cooper and Sims was fricked

They both lasted 1 year on NFL practice squads

Sims never made it to a practice squad. He was offered a tryout with the Packers and Redskins as a running back, never offered a contract, and immediately went to the Toronto Argonauts where he was cut after a week. He bounced around another month before heading to the Australian football league

One of them actually made it on a practice squad roster as a quarterback, the other one couldn't get signed in the NFL or CFL. Arguing Sims was better than Coker is incredibly silly when even the front offices didn't feel that way

Sims made his way to Tampa Bay two years later for the offseason and that was about it in terms of his practice squad chances. Coker retired after his first year because he blew his knee out for the third time.

Ahh I didn't know this. Always figured Coker might surprise some people in the NFL. That's too bad

You guys will come up with borderline conspiracy theories before accepting what both DeBoer and Saban told you. All based on watching a guy look pretty good in mop up duty against bad teams

At least Tua got in against SEC teams AND looked amazing. The offense changed when he stepped on the field. That’s not what we have here

I love Coker and he won a Natty but he will never be Blake Sims cause he never had it in him to do this.

Cooper Bateman said this, "When they talk about the two guys I always say Ridley made Jake, but Blake made Cooper. I mean Blake won the QB job just by hanging out being a running back. Coke they were like we know you are a better QB but your swag is weak, extra weak-we going with Sims. Look they benched Jake for me that one time which was weird, and Coke worked it out and won a Natty. But nothing he every did was as good as what Blake did that night in Baton Rouge. In 3 seconds he became a Bama legend, won the locker room and made us feel like men and enraptured school girls in the same moment."

I’ve never seen so much hate for a dude that had to deal with the two worst OCs in the Saban era and a Center that couldn’t actually snap the ball like Milroe.

Dude had 5 total TDs in less than three quarters but the guy who hasn’t been able to beat him out back to back years and threw an interception last night that was called back is the better player. Also let me go ahead and create conspiracy theories for why I’m right.

Hilarious stuff.
