yep- probably feels he should let the local media ask questions and not just one national talking head.

Seems weird and unnecessary at this point.

If Tua is staying, it would be good to get that out to the other juniors who may very well explore their options accordingly. Look no further than Tim Tebow. He declared early he would be back and sure enough, a number of first-round juniors made the same call. Which, I guess, made Bama's 2009 victory that much more amazing given the historic run the gators were on. Sorry, I couldn't help myself there. Anyway, if you're staying and you're the best QB in the land, get it out there early.

Maybe he's getting bombarded with multiple questions daily and just wants to take all of them in one setting.

I think the point about Florida's underwhelming 2009 performance (feels weird to say, given that they went 13-1) is sort of misplaced. That team was coming off of a National Championship, hadn't suffered the setbacks in '08 that we did this year, and their season didn't culminate in defeat. This team coming back might look more similar to Clemson coming back in 2018. (Or at least, the motivation behind their return would be.)

Lots of reasons to make a comeback I guess. Bama also had a lot of high draft-picks come back for their senior tour in 2016. My main point is that a talented QB can create a nice groundswell of momentum that otherwise might not have happened.

Personally, I would say failure is a greater motivator than success. But whatever works for the players is fine by me.

anything that isn't bad news and that gets Alabama some publicity is good

“I still have to finish up school here.”

He gone, without saying he gone.

Well if he's not announcing his intention to leave or stay, why have a press conference?

This may be the most useless press conference ever. I really think Bama was just tired of people asking questions about Tua and said "here, YOU ask him yourself."

Pretty much.

Nothing of substance. He's talking to his parents about the decision, it's the biggest decision of his life and he's not sure what he'll do.

It sounded like he's gone.

Too bad for him that he can’t declare later than next month
I’m sure he’ll have a clearer analysis of recovery then than here in a few weeks

I think this is the only reason there is a more than 0% chance he comes back. He's rolling the dice one way or another.

Easier to just release a statement.

Then he wouldn't have had to waste anyone's time and resources.

I think it would be best for him, well everyone, that they can rescind their declaration after the end of the drafts first round

He would be a fool to stay, especially if he has anything higher than a 3rd round grade
