I’d be so sick if he came back and got hurt again.
I really hope he can recover and have a successful NFL run.

Yea thought about that too. I'd spend the whole season terrified of him down on the ground again. It almost wouldn't even be fun.

So he sees more risk in declaring? Is that what he's saying? That's....interesting. It sounds like if he's not considered a lock to go in the top half of the 1st round he wants to come back.

Maybe I'm putting too much stock in his honesty and openness, but it seemed pretty clear to me that is what he said too.
But who knows.

That's what it sounds like to me too. And there's no reason for him to play coy on this. His season is over and has been for over 2 weeks now. Admitting that he's leaning towards going pro or that he's definitely going pro doesn't really cost him anything or create a distraction.

Honestly, it will probably come down to the information they get and how much they trust it re: Top 10 vs late 1st/2nd.
I just don't think he's going to fall out of the Top 10, and I think he's going to get convinced of that.

Purely as business, what QB is he projecting to be taken? 3rd , 4th, 5th?
Who's projecting ahead of him? Oregon's QB? LSU's?
Who could be ahead of him in the 2021 draft? Clemson's QB?
He could look to see if there is "less" competition in '21, thus he could be a higher pick. But, then again, there will always be one of those Burrow's that come out of nowhere to rise to the top.

I have a feeling if he can get insurance for his last season at Bama I think he'll come back. I think Tua loves Bama and he values playing with his brother one more year. On the other hand if Tua leaves I won't be surprised.

If he is being projected as a mid first rounder now as soon as team doctors get to evaluate him come draft time he will probably shoot back into the top 10 assuming everything goes good health wise.

Justin Fields as well for 2021

Wasn't that the issue someone posted regarding him not having the draft insurance this year. If he had that insurance it would be a no brainer it seems.

In 2021, even if Fields and Lawrence would go ahead of Tua who is coming off a full, healthy season he still likely goes top 10. I don't think Tua is tripping off being the first QB chosen. He just wants to be a top 10 pick.

The issue is that he will have no way of knowing how his recovery will be going...at the January date to declare, he will still be on non-weight bearing activity only.

More like still a top 5 or top 3 pick if he is healthy.

I don't expect any sort of declaration one way or the other tomorrow, probably just a reiteration of what he's already said, "when I know, you guys will know"
