Golding obviously doesn't seem to think so. Gotta put Moses out on Pitts on 3rd and 17 and give up 40 yard bombs.

Was one play he had Will Anderson covering what looked like a WR.

My remote almost died that play haha.

At least someone decided at halftime to stop trying to cover Toney with a safety without help. That was progress... I guess.

Anderson was on a RB on a wheel route.

Why is Dale playing in front of Tim Smith ?

Why is Dylan Moses playing ?

Serious questions

Moses has never recovered from his injury, and unfortunately, it looks like he never will get his speed and mobility back.

Dale has a role in games vs run or balanced offenses. He apparently (per stats and Cubelic) holds up double teams quite well in the run game and he doesn't go to the wrong place.

However, in a game vs basically an air raid team, I don't understand why he plays more than depth snaps. He provides no value there.

Mullen had the backs motioning split wide and vice versa so often I couldn’t tell if it was an actual WR or a RB running the route and with Toney playing a hybrid role it didn’t really matter to me either way.

If Anderson is covering one of their speed backs or WRs we’ve lost schematically before the ball is snapped.

We actually covered the wheel routes pretty well yesterday. Moses got caught on one, but other than that we didn't get picked much and we didn't have any where we just broke down.

Moses most definitely got torched more than once. He finally just started grabbing folks to stop them from running by him. Several times.

He got beat on other stuff but I only remember 1-2 wheel routes he defended (1 of which he grabbed). Allen defended one well. Anderson was running with a guy once. Our DBs picked a couple up.

We got roasted on other stuff, obviously.

To add to this, I can’t understand for the life of me why we have single coverage with a true freshman on the best TE we’ve probably ever faced under Saban, in Kyle Pitts, and don’t drop a linebacker in the middle. But instead we blitz him from 5-6 yards off the LOS and leave the middle wide open for Pitts/Trask (insert any TE/QB combo here) to go to work.

He was flagged twice for holding so that the receiver wouldn't run right by him. I've got 1 BILLION internet dollars I'll bet ya. Go on George, take the bet, lose all your internet money.

To be fair I think we tried all sorts of stuff. Because of their scheme and the multiple great playmakers they have you can't assign a guy for the entire game. We matched up Moore on him, we played zone, we matched up Surtain on him, we matched up a high/low on him.

We dropped a linebacker in the middle one time - they hit the open spot for 20 yards on 3rd and 17.

We did all sorts of stupid shite yesterday in true Alabama defense fashion, but they're also really fvckin hard to get stops against when they are in rhythm.

One of them was down the middle though - I'm just talking wheel routes.

And oh yea, he saved TDs on both. IT WAS A SMART PLAY POW. GOOD WORK DYLAN.

Will LaBryan Ray ever come back ? He has been banged up the past two years it seems like. If he could be close to 100% for the playoff then he could be a difference maker. Dale could be useful against Notre Dame but not Clemson or Ohio State. Those teams can pass the ball in an elite way.
