I’m glad football season is starting soon, but the off-season for roundball is way too long!! Miller & Stretch didn’t play enough in the NBA summer league to satisfy the craving. If football gets spring training and a spring game (which may turn into playing another team in an exhibition soon), then Bball should get a mini summer session of exhibitions or foreign tours (not just every 4 years). MLB everyday helps, but July/August needs some CBB!!

There was a proposal this year for teams to be able to play two summer games, but the NCAA tabled the proposal, I think because of resistance from lower division schools. In a survey, about 75% of players want it and big league coaches want it. Every level of basketball has summer league play, so I would not be surprised if colleges got a summer league too eventually - we may have to ditch the NCAA first, or at least allow the big schools to self determine what we want to do in the summer.

Not as tough as last years schedule. Probably a good thing with so many new faces. Should start 4-0. I’d say 10-3 at worst with that schedule.

The Alabama men's basketball team announced its non-conference schedule for the 2023-24 season Tuesday. The season will officially tip off on Monday, Nov. 6 against Morehead State inside Coleman Coliseum.

The Crimson Tide's non-conference slate includes seven games at Coleman Coliseum highlighted with the ACC/SEC Challenge against Clemson. Away from Tuscaloosa, the Tide will play three opponents who played in the 2023 NCAA Tournament in Arizona, Creighton and Purdue.

Tip times and television designations will be released at a later time. Fans interested in season tickets can fill out the season ticket interest form. Fans who fill out this form will receive exclusive presale access to season tickets before they go on sale to the general public.

2023-24 Schedule Highlights
* ·         Of the 13 games during Alabama's non-conference schedule, the Tide will face eight opponents who participated in the NCAA Tournament and NIT last season
* ·         Nine of Alabama's opponents won 20 games or more last season
* ·         The Tide will face Purdue, who was a No. 1 seed in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, and Arizona who was a No. 2 seed
* ·         Alabama will begin the season playing its first four games at Coleman Coliseum
* ·         The non-conference schedule features 11 different conferences
* ·         The Crimson Tide will play in five neutral site games, capping the non-conference schedule in Birmingham against Liberty in the C.M. Newton Classic
* ·         The Tide will spend Thanksgiving weekend in Destin, Fla., at the Emerald Coast Classic against Ohio State and will face either Oregon/Santa Clara in the second game
* ·         Alabama will play in two Hall of Fame series games starting in Toronto against Purdue (Dec. 9) and wrapping up in Phoenix, Ariz. versus Arizona (Dec. 20)

Well one good thing about an easier home schedule…we get to potentially extend that home winning streak to like 22 games heading into SEC play

It really sets up nice. Four easy ones out of the gate. Then a NIT three pack. Easy one against Arkansas St. Then three really good tests to let us know where we are at. Close it out with two easy ones before conference play.

Huh? We play top 15 Creighton, Arizona, and Purdue on the road and likely Oregon in the Thanksgiving tournament if we get by Ohio State. And even "buy" games against Liberty and Eastern Ky, are teams that won their league and made the NCAA tournament. Clemson is no pushover either.

It’s not as tough as last year’s imo. Last year we played UConn who won the national championship, North Carolina, Michigan St., at Houston who was number one at the time, Gonzaga, Memphis, and at Oklahoma.

It’s a good schedule, no doubt, but no way is at as tough as last years.

IMO y'all are splitting hairs a bit. Both last year's and this year's OOC slates are very challenging. I'd lean towards last year being more difficult but we're talking a 1a and 1b kind of thing.

Agree. Oats is all for a tough schedule.
