This is great news honestly. Never understood how he got into this class (trust the staff though) but after everything the team just went through this year, last thing we need to do is adding a guy with off court issues/drama already and hasn't even moved to Tuscaloosa yet. Rather use that roster spot on some instant help out of the portal.

Sounds like Nimari got the boot and it wasn’t his decision. I hate that but that’s just the nature of CBB these days

I'm really not sure I'm going to have any energy to emotionally invest in anything offseason wise or even the regular season. I'll still love them and watch and want them to win, but in the end what does any of it matter if we shite our pants in March like we have every year for 100 seasons now? sigh

We’ve got the market cornered on Dairy Farmer players of the year.

Parker averaged 24.8 points, 7.1 assists, 14.2 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game this season, leading the Big Bend in all four categories. He finished 15th in the state in scoring, fourth in rebounding, seventh in assists, and 35th in blocks
I know he is in a small classification but averaging 14 rebs and almost 3 blocks a game for a guard is impressive. I have a feeling he is gonna be very good for us.

Not trying to be mean but he was always going to be a role player anyway. He's not going to be a consistent scorer with his shot mechanics and his lack of drive and score. Played hard and I appreciate the effort he gave but real world for the sake of his playing time, he needed to move on.

Agreed. Solid perimeter defender and corner 3 guy, but he doesn't have the handles to be a true combo guard or the size to be a wing. Basically John Petty without the ability to go 6/10 from 3 on any given night.

Amen. It helps to just embrace the pain. We aren’t ever going to the Final Four. Heck, we may never make it beyond the Sweet 16 again.

Watched Massoud in the tourney and thought he was a good player.

I love how we went from not making the tournament but twice in 20 years to our fans now complaining and jumping off the bandwagon after we have made the sweet 16 and lost two out of the last three years.
Crazy how far Oats has brought the program in such a short time. Also crazy how terrible and fickle some of our so called bball fans are.
This is a great time to be a Bama bball fan and the future looks even brighter.

He had some good moments but don't think he'd be a good fit. He's a little on the slow side and never averaged more than 8 points over 4 seasons of playing.

Pretty good write up on Menifield, the Washington PG we contacted.

The dynamic guard was the leading scorer in Nike's EYBL this past summer, averaging 22.6 points on 46.7 percent shooting for The Family. He played at Phoenix Prep in Arizona after previously competing at Beecher High School in Flint, Michigan. In 2021 at Beecher High, he led them to a 16-1 record in an abbreviated season and averaged 26 points, 9.3 assists, 6.6 steals and 4.7 rebounds. He was the Michigan Division 3 Player of the Year and capped the season with a 37-point performance in a championship-game win. In all, Menifield lettered four times at Beecher, a school that also produced current Washington Wizards guard Monte Morris.

It was a bit of a tongue-in-cheek comment. However, Alabama basketball does have a tendency to create negative feelings. Of course I’m still on board with them, just feeling down right now.
