I'd need to know more about the circumstances. If he got a blowjob from a 15 year old girl, and her parents found out and went to the cops that's not really something I'd consider a big deal.

Alabama has a "Romeo and Juliet" provision in the law where there must be a 2 year age gap between the parties involved for the crime to kick in if the younger one is 12-16 (age of consent in Alabama is 16). If you know his birthday and when he was charged, you can pretty easily calculate the max age of the victim when the crime (and agree or no, it is a crime) happened.

Yes this is true, when I was 15 my girlfriend was 13. We talked on the phone ,went to the movies, hung out at her house . We did this for two years her parents loved me to death. When I was 17 we fooled around once and only once .

She got pregnant at 15 , her parents tried to get me for statutory rape because I was two years and one month older than her. Even though we dated two years . I was in the wrong for have sex with her but there definitely was no rape.

I think that if they go to the same school, it shouldn't be illegal. A junior getting a felony for banging a freshman is insane. If it's about protecting kids, separate the class years. Make it k-6, 7-9, and 10-12. But it's not exactly an issue that someone wants to lead the charge on.

Recruits go on record about their recruitment

With the 2023 class basically a wrap, I’ve decided to move ahead to the class of 2024 to get a pulse on how the recruiting process is going for several top-100 junior prospects.

I asked each recruit a series of questions to learn the latest on their college recruitment.

quote:

Four-Star PG Jase Richardson
Size: 6-3 / 180
School: Bishop Gorman (NV)
On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 46

1. Which schools are recruiting you the hardest?
“As of lately, Arkansas, Michigan State, Kansas, Alabama, Cincinnati, Cal, and Colorado have been recruiting the hardest.”

2. What schools would you like to visit?
“I would like to try and visit Arkansas again, Kansas, and Stanford.”

*Richardson has taken an official visit to Michigan State and unofficial visits to Washington and Arkansas.

3. Which college coach would you say you’ve formed the closest relationship with and why?
“I would say I’ve built a close relationship with Coach Muss (Arkansas). We have been talking a lot as of lately and he’s shown a lot of love towards me and my family.”

4. Is there anybody you’d like to team up with in college or is anyone recruiting you to join them?
“I’m not doing much recruiting on my end but I have been talking to Jahki Howard about some potential schools we could team up at.”

5. What’s the biggest deciding factor for you when making a decision on where you want to play college basketball?
“The biggest factors when making my decision is the coaching staff, style of play, and a place I feel I can be the best version of myself.”

quote:

Four-Star SG Cam Scott
Size: 6-5 / 175
School: Lexington (SC)
On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 22

1. Which schools are recruiting you the hardest?
“Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, Texas.”

2. What schools would you like to visit?
“Wanting to visit Kansas, Tennessee, Florida State, and Alabama potentially.”

*Scott has taken official visits to South Carolina, Auburn, and Texas. He’s taken unofficial visits to North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida State.”

3. Which college coach would you say you’ve formed the closest relationship with and why?
“I’d think coach (Bruce) Pearl at Auburn has the best relationship with me and my family. He has just made us feel at home since going to Auburn for a visit. He constantly makes an effort to keep in contact with me.”

4. Is there anybody you’d like to team up with in college or is anyone recruiting you to join them?
“I’ve been recruited by some people at Auburn and that’s about it for my 2024 class.”

5. What’s the biggest deciding factor for you when making a decision on where you want to play college basketball?
“Somewhere I can come in, produce and make an impact early. Being with a coach and staff who want me to get better each and every day.”

quote:

Four-Star SF Jalen Shelley
Size: 6-7, 175
School: Prestonwood Christian (TX)
On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 44

1. Which schools are recruiting you the hardest?
“LSU is recruiting me the hardest. They check on me almost daily.”

2. What schools would you like to visit?
“I would like to visit Louisville, Alabama, and Texas.”

3. Which college coach would you say you’ve formed the closest relationship with and why?
“Coach (Kellen) Sampson. He always has a lot of energy and speaks positive about me every time we talk. Houston gives off a tight, family environment.”

4. Is there anybody you’d like to team up with in college or is anyone recruiting you to join them?
“I would like to play with my close friends, Tre Johnson and Jaylen Washington. They are two good guys to be around on and off the court. I know they both have the same mindset as me.”

5. What’s the biggest deciding factor for you when making a decision on where you want to play college basketball?
“My biggest deciding factor is which school will develop me the most and take me to that next level.”

If he couldnt win player of the year playing in the Villages retirement community I’d feel bad for him.

JK I like Walters a lot. Excited to see what he can do next year. Looks like another 6’8 guy that should be able to shoot over 40% from three.

Here's some highlights of Freeman from one of his most recent games, he had 29pointw (12-21 FG), 8reb, 3ast, & 3blk. He is #0 on the gray team.

I don't watch any HS basketball, but both of those teams looked outstanding. They looked like they could beat some lower level D1 teams. Certainly better than some D1 teams from 15-20 years ago. They would boat race any WNBA All-star team: They are bigger, stronger, faster, quicker and more skilled.

If we want to just corner the market on stretch 4s for the next decade I'm cool with that.

Seriously, of all the positions on the floor, if you are a 6'9 guy with athleticism and a decent shooting touch......name another program that fits, will develop your game and showcase your abilities more than ours. You can't. We're the premium school for those dudes (and those dudes are the premium player for the NBA).

I hope no one takes this as an insult to the current class, I’m really excited about Davin Cosby, Sam Walters, and Mouhamed Dioubate. But, with the historic season we are having, as fun as it looks, and Oats looking like the next big thing, it’s strange this is the season we don’t reel in a 5-star. I was expecting maybe 2-3.

2017: Collin Sexton, John Petty
2018: Kira Lewis
2019: Jahvon Quinerly
2020: Josh Primo
2021: JD Davison, Nimari Burnett
2022: Brandon Miller, Jaden Bradley
2023: none

I figured we’d bring in 2-3 McDonalds All-Americans/5-Stars because of the successful season. Just a little strange.

The 2023 class signed like 4 days after our 1st game. Nothing about the current season would have an effect on that class.

The 2024 class would be the first one to really take this current season into account when making decisions. And we're in on a bunch of highly ranked guys.

#6 Asa Newell
#12 Boogie Fland
#22 Liam McNeeley
#28 Dink Pate
#43 Donnie Freeman
#47 Amier Ali
#55 Aiden Sherrell

Thank you. I didn’t realize the dates were like that. Looking forward to what Oats does with the 2024 class!

Available 2023 wing Kris Parker plans to make his college decision following the conclusion of his season, which is set to end March 4th.

He shared his thoughts on those he is continuing to hear from with @247Sports.

Available 2023 wing Kris Parker updates his recruitment

Kris Parker, a 6-foot-6 small forward out of Quincy (Fla.) Crossroad School, is one of the top available players remaining on the board.

A previous Top150 prospect, Parker has caught the eyes and attention of high majors throughout the country and after a strong senior season he is hopeful to make a decision in the coming weeks.

"The season has been good. We are going to the semi-finals of the regionals. I think I have been playing pretty good. I am doing what it takes to win. I am leading well," Parker described of his season.

Parker is an intriguing wing in the senior class with a blend of size, length, athleticism and skill that makes for him being able to impact the game in a variety of ways from scoring, defending and also playmaking.

His talents over the course of his high school career have garnered high major recruiting interest and while he originally planned to make a commitment in December, he is still available but could be nearing a decision in the coming weeks.

"It's good," he said of his recruiting process. "I am talking to the same couple of schools and there and some new schools calling."

The schools he said that he has remained in contact with include Villanova, Alabama, FSU, LSU and UCF.

He discussed his latest thoughts on each school and where things stand with 247Sports.

Alabama: "I like what Nate Oats is doing, he is definitely turning it around from it being a football school."

Florida State: "They're kind of struggling this year but that's the home school so I love Florida State."

UCF: "They're a sleeper team, they're an underdog team but Johnny Dawkins is a great coach."

Villanova: "I think it's a really good school, they got a lot of history."

Some additional schools he said he has been hearing from include Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Missouri and DePaul and he further shared the latest on DePaul and Missouri.

Missouri: "I think coach [Dennis] Gates and 'CY' [Charlton Young] do a great job recruiting and coaching and we built a good relationship."

DePaul: "Coach Stubbs [Tony Stubblefield] has a great offensive system and has coached multiple players at my position."

At this point in his recruitment, Parker is not planning on taking anymore visits and has an idea of when he wants to announce a decision.

"I am going to commit after the season," he said.

Parker has taken three official visits to Villanova, Alabama and UCF.

Parker would be a solid add this late. We have 3 or 4 spots left depending on what happens to RJ Johnson.

I think this class and ultimately our ceiling for next year will be determined by how well we do in the portal, we need a couple of good Forwards that can start and contribute right away.

We should be really good and deep at guard with Sears, Bradley, Griffen, Burnett, Cosby, Johnson

Center should be a strength too with Bediako and Pringle

We'll be pretty inexperienced at F with Walters, Dioubate, and maybe Parker if we get him.
