I understand what you're saying about the term "point guard" on a roster, but who would be the better initiator of our offense from our current group without Philon? If you just take this season with Philon, Aden and Mark, there was a significant difference in getting the offense going. Those three could all bring the ball up and beat their man off the dribble to some extent. Having Mark bring it down and start the possession wasn't as effective because he over dribbled and Aden got hesitant.

I think some of the turnover issues between Sears and Philon were due to us not having movement on offense in the half court. The defense would collapse on them and they wouldn’t have anywhere to pass the ball. Sometimes they would be in no man’s land. Nelson seemed to be the only player who knew when to cut to the basket on a backdoor cut.

Rumors are starting to swirl that Stevenson might be entering the portal.

The backdoor cut is such an obvious variation to the offense given our spacing Im shocked we don’t see more of it.

It doesn’t count as a rumor if it’s you saying it to yourself in a padded room

I like Jarin but the move may be beneficial for both parties. He needs more playing time and we need someone who can rebound and block shots at a higher tip than him. He came up big for us a few times and always played hard. Good kid also.

Houston Mallette posted a tik tok talking about being sad when his "brothers" were hitting the transfer portal.

But only MoD was/is officially in, so why the plural? Makes me think there is more coming.

Yeah, I was hoping we'd be involved with him.

Hope he got paid. He'll be in the same situation there that he was here, probably.

Yeah interesting that he went to a team with an extremely similar offensive style. I wonder if he’ll fit any better there?

We beat UK’s arse 3 times this year and he goes there. Whatever, man. Good luck to him, but I won’t be wishing him much more than that

It makes sense for UK in that they need some gritty dudes to help with that sieve of a defense. It makes zero sense for them from a system standpoint.

The Cincy guard is 6’6’’ so it makes sense given Oats is clearly trying to increase our length on the perimeter. However, he’s a sub 30% 3pt shooter and a cursory review of highlights doesn’t give me the vibe that he’s likely to be much of a shooter even in a more open system.
