Auburn fans’ opinions on the Tide Hoops program border on delusion

If, for whatever reason, you want to summon the AU guys all you need to do is create a topic called Bama Basketball, Basketball, or Academics. For each topic they will hit you with either outdated information or opinions based out of nonsense.

But I see us having trouble against a very solid defensive team like an Auburn, Duke, Iowa State if we don’t run efficient offense.
I just wanna make the point we have played 4 of the top 12 defenses in America and are averaging 86ppg in those games.
Or that we have played the 2nd toughest defensive schedule in the nation according to KenPom and lead the Nation in scoring

Man, a Holloway, Trelly, Mallette backcourt sounds nice. And if Philon decides to try and improve his draft stock to lottery pick zone, we may have our backcourt for 25-26 set by April. Add Hannah and the new wings to the mix and pluck a transfer 4 and 5 to replace Cliff and Nelson.

just have to hope he comes back as himself. Achilles injuries are a tough recovery, especially in basketball. Rarely the same.
Different sport, but OJ Howard's athleticism absolutely disappeared after his achilles tear.
edit: I'm sure his shooting touch, leadership, and communication would be invaluable. Just worried about his quickness on defense.

63-8 over our last 71 at home. Sporty!

Might be Mate trying to use the bye to our advantage to give him extra time to heal.

Any word on Cunningham? He gonna stick around?

If your first round, you go. The #1 pick gets 3/$33 million, #10 3/$14m, #20 3/$8.6m, and #30 3/$6.4m. If they're going to pay over $2m per year guaranteed, you gotta take that.

Not that he is very reliable when it comes to Bama anymore but Trilly said Philon is either NBA or Portal. The tampering must be unreal

I hope Naas sticks around. You can tell he has got potential. He made a couple 3s in that Wake Forest game that looked smooth.
Also I don’t really understand redshirting a player anymore with the Portal and with them more than likely within the next year or two giving everyone 5 years of eligibility

It's the right thing to do for the player if he's not going to get any playing time.

Tide Hoops History@BamaHistory
On this date 57 years ago, The University of Alabama officially debuted Memorial Coliseum as @AlabamaMBB christened the multi-purpose facility with an 86-65 victory over Samford. Construction started on the replacement for Foster Auditorium in August 1965 for a cost of $4.2 million ($36 million adjusted for 2025 inflation).
Since that fateful night on Feb. 1, 1968, the “airplane hangar” on 1201 Coliseum Drive also welcomed the biggest names in music which included Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Elton John and Led Zeppelin.
Besides the countless number of Alabama basketball stars, “Pistol” Pete Maravich of LSU scored 69 points just two years after Memorial Coliseum opened, while iconic names like Bernard King, Ernie Grunfeld and Shaquille O’Neal add to the legacy.
In 1988 The University renamed the building Coleman Coliseum in honor of Jefferson Jackson Coleman, an alumnus who served at the school in various roles for more than 50 years.
As the athletic department weighs the feasibility of breaking ground for a new arena under the financial burdens of NIL and soon revenue sharing, fans are divided along generational lines between a fresh start and the building’s nostalgia.
Other SEC schools like Ole Miss and Auburn have opted for smaller, more intimate venues but may run the risk of pricing out a new generation of fans with their programs on the rise.
Regardless of whether Coleman Coliseum is retired in the next five years or remains for another 20, no one will forget the memories of seeing Elvis in one of his final live performances, students throwing snowballs on the court during the winter storm game of 1982 or the thousands of graduates walking up to receive their diplomas.

Hope this is not the case but may explain his drop off since early in the season. If his heart is not in it, he needs to sit.

That is assuming that a freshman in college knows what he will be doing in 6 months. Most of them dont know what they will be doing in 6 days.
