Everything in that article is fricking disgusting.
It's everything wrong with amateur athletics. It's like travel ball on crack. And this particular place is just sketchy as hell.

How the frick does a place get shut down for killing a child and then get to re-open as a different legal entity with the same staff? And then it sells a fricking "stake" in what sounds like a financially insolvent school to a minor? It just feels so....wrong. Exploiting a kid like this, and that is absolutely what is going on here, is gross. It's the same reason I won't let my kids watch any shite like Ryan's World.

Agreed. He could help us with his shooting.

totally agree that if we are only going to use him sparingly then let him keep his redshirt
Disagree. What did he expect when he signed here? Nobody promised him he would be the star of the show. If he wanted to do that he should have went somewhere else. It was no secret this roster was deep. If he has a chance to be a role player on a championship team, i think he would take it bc that is exactly what he signed up for.

Looks like UK will lose, dropping the SEC to 9-1 in the SEC/ACC challenge.

How have we not built our defense around Cliff and his strengths?
Posted on 12/4/24 at 5:31 am to mistaken4193
Cliff has been very underwhelming. On both ends of the floor

The drop coverage has Cliff confused. It works sometimes but drop coverage can put your center in bad situations sometimes. We’ve unfortunately went against guards who have been able to make the uncontested 15-20 foot jumpers our defensive scheme allows. On offense our guards are giving him the ball when he can’t catch it in rhythm. He’s a very good center and it’s still early. He will gel in our system during conference play.

NBA uses it very effectively. As did Bediako two years ago. I’m not sure Cliff has good enough instincts. He’s struggling to decide when to step up or challenge shots

Listen man, if they need to act like he died to get motivated then so be it. It's not like he's actually dead or crippled or anything, so whatever works.

They posted this like he died
Lol.
But as funny as that is, isn't his college career dead? He's not eligible for a medical redshirt, or is he?

I honestly think the offense is a bit smoother and fluid without Sears and Trelly. Philon, Holloway, and Mallette had a smoother flow to the game when they were in

Nice to hear. I knew they'd changed it to 4 games in football, which is a third of the season. So it makes sense it'd be a similar percentage.

SEC THOUGHTS:
What the SEC did to the ACC over the course of two days was both exciting and honestly a bit of a wake up call for us more than them. Obviously for the ACC this will be talked about for years to come as either the catalyst for a complete makeover or the preview of a mega conference in free fall.
For the SEC, going 14-2, winning 11 of those 14 by double digits, going 6-2 in road games and completely cleaning up at home, was kind of scary. I knew the conference had a bunch of lab built teams this year, but I can't really see any team coming out of conference play with less than 4 losses and a 5-6 loss champion doesn't seem unrealistic. Alabama looks well primed to go on the road and constantly give themselves a chance to win in conference. Would going 500 on the road in conference this year be considered extremely successful?

I mean, we are Top 40 in defensive efficiency now. It’s exactly what we brought him in to do. Guys like Reid and Mo D help but Cliff has made us a more complete team
Also, as many predicted, Grant’s numbers are up across the board playing a more natural position

I guess my theory is if they've negotiated an ownership stake in a sketchy prep school, they're probably looking for the most money possible. But the several million dollar question is, would he make the most money at BYU? Yes, they have the biggest offer, probably by a lot. But by going to BYU, would that make him less marketable? It'll be interesting to see if their coach will make a good transition from the NBA to college.
