Oklahoma about to win Battle 4 Atlantis. Ole Miss beating Purdue. This league is ridiculously stacked.

We're going to end up with 2 or 3 good teams who fall victim to the cannibalization and end up going like 6-12 in conference with 4 losses by 10 total points. This is why I love how Nate schedules, even though I still wish he'd squeeze one more buy game in there early before it ramps up. Just to get the new guys more low pressure experience with the players who are already comfortable in the system.

I've always said if you could finish in the top 5 in the sec, I feel like that you should be satisfied.

Who are we starting tonight?

Cliff
Grant
?
?
Sears

Probably gonna be Trelly and Reid. But Aden and Mo have been playing well enough to earn starting spots. Philon will have a role somewhere. Is he our fastest player? Not sure how we want to matchup against Oregon, but Oats has been favoring size over speed a bit more this season, iirc.

Am i the only guy more excited for this game than the football? I think it would be a good program accomplishment for our guys to go and win this money. Will help with our recruiting too.

Nope. This has the potential to be the best season in Alabama basketball history. Even if it isn't, they're almost certainly going to have a good year. The football game is only interesting in that I mildly wonder if they can get it together enough to beat a mediocre Auburn team. That, and I'd like to see Ty play (unlikely to happen).

We better figure some stuff out quick because SEC play will be here before we know it. There’s no reason we should be losing the turnover battle in every game we play.

Down to #10 in KenPom. Defense rating down to #49. If we can’t figure out how to get some stops or force some turnovers you can forget winning the conference.

Mallette must be a turnstile defensively. Idk why that level of shooter in Oats system would be a redshirt in the first place. Wonder if they burn the redshirt now? Is Youngblood still projected back mid December?

He had knee issues when he got to campus and didn’t practice all summer. That was the rationale for him to redshirt and be full go next year for his final year of eligibility.

We are #13 in the first NET. About what I expected. Us not beating Arkansas State and McNeese by double digits hurt us.

Sounds about right. We're a 10-20 type team right now. Probably closer to 20 without Wrightsell. That puts us 5th in the SEC.

If you like close games, this is the year for you.

Some of the turnover problem is playing so many players each game.
The coaches have to find out who can help, though.
I dont understand what is going on with Cliff though.

Some, but it's primarily Philon, Sears, Nelson, and Reid who are turning the ball over a ton. I'd like to see Holloway start at the point since he takes care of the ball way better than Sears and Philon. Seems like every game we end up with like 5 turnovers by the first media timeout.

This is an overreaction IMO. Sears has played like absolute dog shite and Stevenson missed his first 18 threes. Oregon has been playing fantastic ball and despite an abominable performance from the SEC Player of the Year and an ungodly amount of unforced turnovers, they still needed a bad goaltending call to beat us.

We have beat quality teams playing our C/D game. Losing Wrightsell hurts, but considering we're getting Youngblood back that should help off-set the loss. This is still a championship level team. Just need to work on chemistry and get Sears back to what he was (the best returning player in CBB).
