They beat the hell out of Arkansas. Almost made as many 3s as Arkansas attempted

90-77 Illinois. From start to finish.

That Lithuanian kid is legit. Their offense is going to be a handful for most teams.
I don't think Cal at Arkansas is going to be a late career renaissance though. They looked exactly like a recent Kentucky team in different uniforms.

Trevon Brazile... One of the greater mysteries in college basketball. End of his freshman year he had a lot of doors open from NBA draft to everyone wanting him when he entered the portal. He has just tumbled backwards since then.

Doesn't seem the same since the injury.

When he transfered to Arkansas I was pretty resigned to the fact that we were all going to be fighting for 2nd place that year, with Arky already signing Anthony Black, Nick Smith Jr and adding Ricky Council. I forgot he started out like a tank for Arkansas his sophomore year and then went down for the rest of the season with an injury

that team never got started.
NSJ and his agency with load management
Brazile with his injury
Devo and his mental health
Muss with his annual start slow in Jan

I haven't had a chance to watch a ton of Arkansas this year, but from an outside perspective it looks like probably getting as much or more than expected from Thierro, Fland and Ivisic..
Am a little surprised to see Johnell Davis kind of middle of the road.

I mean Houston and Illinois are both Q1-A wins. Rutgers is another Q1 win.
McNeese and Arkansas St are gonna be top 100 on KP and win their conference.
The resume is strong so far. And without Youngblood and us playing sloppy.

We may have already beaten 4 different future conference champions, including the B1G and Big 12.

If we win these next 2 games I think we are gonna go 12-1 in the Non-Conference against this tough arse scheudle

I think we’ll win on Saturday, but UNC at their house will be a tall order. We matchup well with them, but they want revenge and will play above their heads at home that night.
Think I indicated 2 OOC losses, 4 conference losses, and 1 loss in SEC Tourney prior to the season. The 4 conference losses is looking harder and harder, as the SEC has performed very well in OOC. SEC NET and Kenpom metrics are going to be insane this year, kind of like the B12 has been recently.

NSIAP- recommend listening to the Rutgers coach postgame press conference. Very high praise. Said we were the deepest team in the country and uber talented

Today was our first game fully healthy so we got that going
Johnell hasnt looked good at all.
Thiero and Ivisic look to be the best of the bunch so far.

I think we need to be on very high alert Saturday. Oregon brings a lot of senior experience and they don't do much of anything poorly.
Oregon's leading scorer is a 7 foot traditional center who they will dump the ball into and he will work in the post. I actually think this part favors us.. Cliff desperately needs a confidence boosting shot in the arm and I think he will likely be a better defender against a true post presence than he is against active movement in the paint. We need him to find his footing defensively. Nate has had a very quick hook with Cliff in the past 3 games. Partially due to foul trouble, but mainly more that it looks like he is very frustrated with Cliff's paint defense.

He was very complimentary in his interview going into halftime. You could tell he was impressed with our team. Not sure i remember another coach having that reaction to playing our basketball team.

Regardless of opponent you cant let the other team go 15/31 behind the arc and expect to win.

Yes it’s pretty interesting but still it’s early, would be nice to get their stats after the season too. Good to see they all landed at top tier schools. Did not know about Walters at Michigan.
