If tweet fails to load, click here. This post makes it sound like Riley will reclass. Nothing we can do if that’s his choice. I think we would be the front runners if he stayed in the 25 class. He is a stud player tho

There's a lot of smoke it's a reclass and Illinois.
Hate we're going to miss out on him but also don't blame him for wanting to get to college early.

That doesn't even make sense though. Our roster is set. I don't think we have another scholarship to give. So if he were to reclassify our roster quality is kind of irrelevant. On the other hand, if he doesn't reclassify our roster should look pretty appealing next year with no Sears, Nelson, Trelly, Cliff, Youngblood, or Mallette coming back plus anyone who may play his way into the draft and the usual portal losses.

He wants to reclassify so him waiting a year isn't going to happen, just a fun dream at this point.
Roster quality sort of factors in because there isn't anyone we can politely ask to seek other opportunities. If this was a video game I'd probably tell Mallette that he can get more playing time somewhere else but in the real world, I doubt that's going to happen. He brings elite shooting and a veteran presence in the locker room.

Yeah. After we got Youngblood, my first thought was, "why did we get Mallette?"
Just seems like his position can be played by several others, and he isn't really known to play good D. But Oats didn't hesitate to sign him, so I haven't thought much about it since. I'm sure Oats has a plan, even if it's just as an injury contingent.

Hurley staying. Good for College Baksetball. I’m glad. To be the man you gotta beat the man and if Nate ever gets us a National Title I want him to beat Hurley for it

Welp congrats on your raise Mr Hurley

I'd rather be in the position we're in now than have to hold out hope someone doesn't go to the draft or average players suddenly get elevated because of supply and demand competing with other schools. It only hurts in a situation like this but the circumstances are probably pretty rare.

quote:I watched him practice and talked to him a bit last week and I believe he'll be a nice piece for us. He was one of three dudes who really stood out to me defensively in team 5v5 session (along with Mo D. and Philon). Really mature kid too. Taller than Youngblood so he can play the 3. I think he and Reid will be a nice 1-2 punch there.

I saw sometime last year people started calling Wrightsell this. Am I the only one who feels like there’s only ONE T-Relly? Where’s all this Releford erasure coming from?

To be fair, it wasn't OUR analytics folks. It was the 3rd party people we use.
