Probably reading too much into it.......but this sounds like a "goodbye" more than a "just getting some feedback". At the very least, sounds more like a legitimate option if the feedback comes back a certain way than a "I'm only doing this for feedback and definitely coming back" situation.

Definitely sounds like a "good-bye" to me.

That's the way I was reading it but didn't want to be the one to say it.

I’m sure he really wanted to be a 1 and done after enrolling early, but I don’t think he put anything on tape at the college level that would make a team want to draft him right now. Probably smart to get feedback, but I do think it’d be a big mistake for him to leave college now.

How can Primo "sign with an NCAA certified agent" and still return to Alabama? I thought signing with an agent meant you would receive money, so gone.

The NCAA changed their rules a couple years ago where a certified NCAA agent can guide you through the process without you losing your eligibility.

He will be back. Oats would be after another guard hardcore if he thought Primo was gone.

Also, Myreon Jones was ours if we wanted him/had room. Oats wouldn’t have turned him away if Primo was leaving

Agreed. He has a nice looking shot and good measurables but he'd be lucky to get onto a G-league roster right now. He's got to show something else, whether it be potential as a lock down perimeter defender, creating for himself, facilitating for others, or what have you. He's basically a one dimensional guy on offense right now though.

Would hate to lose Primo. When is the deadline for him to make a decision?

JD dropped to #13 in ESPNs final Top 100. Dropped from #2 PG to #3 PG

Bediako is #33
Holt is #99

Yep. So far, he's only proven himself as a talented catch and shoot guy. He had trouble with creating his own shots, driving and finishing, or creating a slot for other players. He's flashed potential, but isn't quite there. It seemed like a confidence or game speed issue. The kind of things that experience should solve.

I expect him to be back for another season. I'm not sure he's even ready for the g league. If it boils down to a money issue, and needing to provide for his family, I emphasize. But I see him as a euro player right now. And if he was looking at going the European route, you would've expected it to happen right out of high school.

I think late June/early July.

I will say, the really isn't any single player than irreplaceable. Because this is the deepest roster I've ever seen Bama have. But a wing like Primo would be great to have for another season.

I wouldn't say he was a lockdown guy, like Herb or Ellis. But he was solid defensively. But he'll definitely need to show more variety and consistency on offense.

I'm not too impressed with Auburn's guards so far.

Not an especially talented group, but Pearl has a way of getting guards to play above their talent level. And this group is solid and experienced though not spectacular.

Herb and Ellis were 3 and 4 years older than Primo this season, respectively. There is no comparison potential-wise.

Definitely fair to say but he’s pretty much a first round lock as long as his shooting and defense progress as expected.

Lmao are you serious? Primo is 18 years old, 6’6, long, athletic, borderline-elite shooter, great defender already. He will 100% get drafted should he choose to stay in the draft.

I don't know about all that. Petty wasn't a lock last year, and I can't think of anything that Primo currently does better than Petty did last year. He might get drafted on potential, and he also might not.

When? He wasn't a liability on defense. He was actually pretty good just like pretty much everyone else on our roster. Nothing he showed on defense suggested he has a future as a lockdown NBA defender though. He wasn't Herb, or even Ellis.

Petty was 3 years older than Primo is now.

He’s an easy mid to late second round flyer for every NBA team at worst.
