The only thing with Tech is they can be bad offensively. And they aren’t built to come from behind. If we can keep from turning it over and hit a few shots early, I actually think we have good chance.
I think Sweet 16 is the ceiling. No way the refs will let us beat Duke. That will be Pippen and Rupp Arena had a love child.

Was that the Orlando your ament with Avery where we also beat Wichita? Can't remember.
Definitely remember going up there and getting pounded when we were in the Top 5 in the mid 2000s.

I agree, texas tech doesnt scare me like a purdue would. Theyre offensively challenged , not really long or athletic. But take care of first game first

Texas Tech is definitely the worst offense of the top 16 per all the metrics.

I don’t hate or love our bracket. It’s just decent enough to give me a little bit of hope lol. If we win the first game, I’m all in on another Sweet 16 run
beating TT will be TOUGH tho

It’s more about how suffocating their defense is, how few players we have who can create their own shot, and how turnovers prove our guards are. Add to it the quick turnaround from the first game and lack of preparation for that style of defense.
If 2021 SEC Tourney JQ shows up, we’ll be fine. He’s only shown up a handful of times this season.

I think I would rather play Rutgers. They have not been good away from home
They beat Wisconsin and Indiana on the road…every other game they have struggled

Yeah I don't think Texas Tech is that bad of a matchup for us if we make it to the second round either. We have usually played defensive-first teams pretty well this year between Houston, LSU, Tennessee. We will probably never get a lead we feel confident with those teams, but we'll also be in those games until the end.
We would to turn it over a million times against them like noted, but they also turn it over quite a bit themselves, even more than us crazy enough. 20.3% of possessions for them compared to our 19.8% of possessions. Also, they don't shoot the 3 well and they don't shoot free-throws well, which are usually a couple of the things that teams that have beat us have done, even if it's just a player or two doing that. And last, they were NOT good away from home and that crowd of theirs, which plays to our advantage as well. Now granted, we SUCKED in our away games for the most part, but we already knew that, so I'll take them sucking too.

Notre Dame and Rutgers are both ranked 250+ in turnover defense vs top 50 teams

Best news I've heard all day. Maybe we can keep our turnovers below 20.
