That's what it looks like, but in all fairness, the questions all year have been terrible. None of the reporters ask anything technical like how did the 1/2 court match up zone work against you? Or why did you go away from the post pass to Gurley, which he passed to a wide open Gary 3 times? Instead, all year they ask "feelings" bulls__t like How does it feel to lose this game?

But we sold way more tickets than that. The same idiots that don't show up now will still have tickets and won't shop up in the new place.

Agree 100%. That's the problem Byrne will not acknowledge. He says over and over we have no problem selling good seats. Right corporations and wealthy donors buy those, but they rarely attend games like last night. And in the case of corporations, Auburn fans can get those seats anytime they want to. So he will have students courtside, gaps in the middle, and me in the rafters.

Yep so if our new arena holds 10,500, we will put about 9,000 in there a night based on what those big donors typically do in regards to showing up.

I understand not being able to go to 16 games a year. I don't understand not giving them away. You can give them back to the school and they get used with a click of a link on the rolltide site. You do have to do this though 24 hours ahead of time though.

I think I’ve come to the realization this team just isn’t very good. I mean look at our last 7 or 8 games. MSU, Vandy, Arkansas could have all easily been losses. We were all excited after South Carolina, but if you look at it, that game was the exception. And even in that one, we had the stretch early in the 2nd half where we almost let them back in it.

The talent is there, the maturity that goes with it isn’t and neither is the leadership on the floor. No one on the roster to “jerk a knot in anyone’s arse” for not giving max effort. These lackadaisical passes, leaving your feet without knowing where you are going with the ball, not going to meet the ball, standing there and waiting for it leads to these 19+ turnover nights every damn time!!! These are things I dealt with when I coached middle school and B-team basketball from 12-15 year olds!!!

Thank you. If you love basketball and the NBA is your dream then that's all the motivation one should need. Nate Oats shouldn't have to motivate anybody on the team. Everybody wants to point fingers at JD but he has nobody to learn from on daily basis. What leader does he have besides the coaches? Nobody! He's not the problem but hey if fans really think that then we are in serious trouble.

You know we've been banging our heads against the wall all year but it really comes down to this team being good when they want to be. It's hard to accept because, like someone else mentioned, the attitude is very anti-Saban. I feel bad for Oats having to deal with this locker room but at the same time, some of the blame should definitely be placed on him.

We just have to hope, that they bring their A-game when the games matter most. That's another reason why Oats is still harping about effort and energy. We're not a top defensive team and we're prone to turnovers but when the effort and energy aren't there (we all know the game examples) then below-average basketball gets magnified to horrible looking basketball.

Ultimately this team will go as far as they're mentally capable of. They can beat anyone in the country but if they're not ready to go at tip-off, they'll just as easily be knocked out in the first round.

In any case, I'm going to be very interested in watching what next year's team does, we'll know if it's more of an Oats issue or if he just didn't have the right guys this season. It's a joke and meme at this point but it's almost inexcusable to lay clunker games like this in March. It felt like a January game where they're still feeling each other's roles out.

9,281 in attendance, second worst of the year

In walking over after the baseball game I couldn’t believe the parking lot at 5:30. Not even 1/3 full. More piled in closer to game time. Terrible crowd. Not blaming anyone, just observing. Not sure why ticket holders would not want to be present for the last home game until November.

I’m happy for the athletes who will get to compete in the new arena. But I’m not optimistic that the new arena will increase actual attendance. The ‘poor folks’ who sacrifice to buy tickets, the mini pack and single game ticket holders are going to be the ones who get chopped in the seating reduction. Not the folks who fork over the big bucks.

I was told by a fan who throws money around at UA that the admin was considering making people buy those seats again in the new place, as in the seats are not just going to transfer over. That won't go over well.

He said he wasn't sure if it was true but he had heard it several places.

Alabama follows a big win with a crushing loss, in true Alabama basketball fashion.
I'm an old guy who has been around sports venues for over 60 years, and seen just about all one can see pertaining to them. One very important thing that this basketball team is missing is the presence of a major player on the team who has an abundance of personal pride...something that he/she projects to the rest of the team on a consistent basis.
Similar to the lead dog pulling the dog sled. The one that the others can watch, be impressed with, and attempt to emulate. One who won't drop his head when things get tough, but will step out in front to show the effort it takes to be successful. Rojas (bless his heart) is the closest thing we've got right now, but it takes a guy like Herb Jones, or even the Brunner kid that they all looked up to on and off the court to give a team that type of pride in their performance. More teams don't have that type of player than those that do, if that's any consolation, but if you're able to get into the "inner sanctum" of a good, solid and disciplined sport team, I'm betting you'll find that guy or girl.

I wouldn’t be surprised. They didn’t have premium seating at the Joe prior to the renovation but the fans who sat there (some for decades) got booted and the ’pony up’ price wasn’t cheap. There will be fewer floor seats in the new arena if the ‘artist renditions’ are accurate so I can certainly see opening them up to the highest bidder. And some of them are going to have to pony up to move back up into the stands as well. The liberal use of the phrase ‘premium seating’ in the new arena (which is probably going to apply to much of the lower bowl) is going to come with a price tag I suspect - in addition to Tide Pride and season ticket purchases.

How many will LSU be favored by Saturday? -4.5?

Last night stings but nothing would take away that sting like beating that cheating loser in Baton Rouge. 6 in a row baby. Make it happen!

LSU all-time series:
113-74
won 10 of the last 13
LSU leads 50-34 in Red Stick
Ala leads 71-19 at home
Ala leads 7-5 at neutral sites

Ending the regular season with a win at LSU and 20 wins with the 5-seed in the SECT locked up would make me feel a lot better after last night

11 am on the road. Will be interesting to see the defensive effort. With Watford going there, and the back and forth between Oats and Wade, it’s developed into a little bit of a rivalry. I think we actually show up, play well, and win.
