Why so few minutes for Gary and wonder why Holt didn’t get in 2nd half?

Not sure. Holt is earning the minutes.

I agree, the rotations were strange today. Holt seemed to play well when in the game, and Gurley was awful minus the last 2 shots he made.

Nice dominant win. Glad to see we carried over the hot shooting from the Ole Miss game, especially in the second half when it really mattered. Rest of the SEC better watch out, we are on absolute fire.

I understand the bitching and moaning, but at this point in the season we are what we are. We beat a good team and that’ll keep me happy enough. Yeah we should’ve won by double digits, but we did dumb stuff that’s plagued us all year. Thankfully this ended in a much needed W that’ll keep us plodding along to the big dance

Maybe I drank to much for that, I didn’t read the thread so I have no idea and we won so I I’ll keep doing it

We should have beaten LSU by more than 1 in the SEC championship last year, and we should have been ahead by at least 1 against UCLA at the end of regulation last year (just 55% FT shooting would have done it). I’ll take a 1 point “should have won by more” game against a good NCAAT team almost any day!

Ugly game. Lots of issues. Found a way to win late against a good team and have basically guaranteed a trip to the dance. Very happy. Take care of business against State and get a no pressure trip to Rupp.

Gurley took the game into his hands the last 90 seconds on offense and did an incredible job on the hedge on Arkansas' last possession. Awesome to see.

JQ is just broken right now. Not sure how much longer we can keep playing him a bunch and hoping he fixes it.

I wonder if Oats chewed his arse for not shooting a 3-pt. shot or one at the rim?

Uh, both those shots were literally at the restricted area line. I'm sure Oats was absolutely fine with it. Those shots are very good shots.

I mean frick that coach who has made us a relevant basketball program again! We should go back to the high post offense like the good ole days when we averaged 61 PPG and went to the NIT every year.

Good gosh.

Remaining:

v. Mississippi State
@ Kentucky
@ Vanderbilt
v. South Carolina
v. aTm
@ LSU

A 4-2 record here would be sufficient

I can honestly never remember seeing a player fall off this hard without some kind of serious injury. Nothing about his performance suggests there's a light at the end of the tunnel either. But we can't play JD 35 minutes a night. It's not a good situation.

Yep - I just want to see consistent effort. Win the games we should win (State, USC, A&M) and find a way to get one more.

Every once in a while he shows a spark of last year on a drive, and then he had 3 straight awful turnovers. It's just sad at this point. He's mentally broken.

JQ isn't there mentally and when he's wide open shooting three's I'm like that's a brick before it leaves his hands.

Maybe Gurley can continue to do that and take some of the pressure off of JQ and Shack. Those guys are clearly crumbling under the stress of being the leaders this team needs and they’re pressing. If somehow Gurley can be that and allow them to just flow in the offense again, that might make all the difference. I mean, someone has to if we’re going to make any kind of run.

I'd also like to throw in that Chuck played another solid game today I thought. 9 Pts on 4 shots, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal. The moving screens were pretty iffy, and he gave us solid minutes in less time.

I like his role as matchup specific and play your arse off for 15 mins a game.

Yep he was good with his limited playing time.

We’ve gotta get Gary to stop constantly fouling and being that junkyard dog. Obviously the Baylor performance can’t be expected every game, but he needs to be that type player every single game. He can be so impactful for us as that type guy so I’m not sure if it’s him trying to be something he’s not or our staff trying to turn him into a player he probably won’t be.
