Call me a Homer/optimist but I think we can go on a little run here our 1st 8 conference games before Baylor.
6-2/7-1 is very doable

@mizzou(W,they suck. Iona significantly better)

vs maneur u(W, home game against the barn? Coleman gonna be jumping like never before)

@miss st(L, classic letdown spot against a talented, but underperforming team)

vs wepaidU(W, This means nothing this season but Oats owns them)

vs mizzou(W, bad team)

@uga(W, bad team)

Tenn game is huge with the 3 following.

This is my concern with playing Tennessee. They will try to control the tempo and are a solid defensive team. Also, someone will have to control Fulkerson.

If we don’t decide to give a shite we will lose a bunch more games.

Merry Christmas to all the Bama Roundball fans out there! Tomorrow we celebrate the greatest gift ever given, so today I want to take a moment to thank God for other gifts…like our coaching staff!!! I also appreciate the players and the sacrifices they made last year to bring conference championships to Bama Bball again! It’s very hard to repeat as champions, but hoping this year is still merry whatever happens the rest of the way. Dec 29th is almost here…and even an 11-7 SEC record would put us in comfortably at probably a 7-8ish seed given our schedule and quality OOC wins. This year could be a good learning experience for Oats (i.e. can’t sacrifice defensive length for good offensive players), but I’m hoping our guys develop and get better as the season goes along.

Hoping everyone stays safe and enjoys the holiday season.

Herb Jones has a block in 11 straight games for the Pelicans.

That's the second-longest streak in franchise history for consecutive games with a block for a rookie.

The only one longer is Anthony Davis who had a 13-game streak in 2012-13.

Houston just lost their best 2 players for the season. JUST OUR frickING LUCK.

Hopefully the committee takes this into account when they seed us

I remember that some folks thought that Herb sucked!!! Sure wish those folks would admit to being a dumb frick and self ban. That’s the admirable thing to do, for sure

I imagine Houston is in much more trouble than are we.
What our opponents do from here on will have little affect on our seeding in the NCAA tournament.
If we can somehow replicate last year's conference record, we should be a 1 seed, Regardless if every OOC team we played loses every game from now til March.

That would be awesome and I hope we do, but that would be just as (if not more) surprising as it was last year imo. 16-2 just doesn't happen very often. That was an incredible run those guys made last year. I will be over the moon if this team can go 12-6 in conference play.

Agreed. Plus another thing this year is road games will be in front of packed arenas. Maybe lol. Road games will be a lot tougher this year

Alabama MBB is fine, but here's what needs attention (USA Today)
quote:

Nate Oats has led his team to victories over two of last season’s Final Four participants, yet the team has also suffered losses to Iona, Memphis and Davidson. Add the struggle against Jacksonville State to the mix and it results in some very nervous Crimson Tide hoops fans.

We're feeling the full measure of Herb Jones' absence. Somebody's gotta step up and be a leader!

I'll get stoned for saying this but we miss Reese as well.

Gurley is just a massive letdown

Reese was just as bad if not worse.

They seem pretty similar to me. I'm still hoping Gurley improves on the offensive end. Long way to go.
