First true road game.

I agree it won't be easy, but no matter what the schedule says you don't get more "road game" than flying across the country to play #3 Gonzaga in Seattle.

Really bad 2 days for SEC:

Mizou got hammered by Kansas
10 KY lost to unranked ND
12 AK lost to unranked Oklahoma
Ms ST lost to Colorado St.
TA&M lost to TCU
Ole Miss lost to West. Ky
20 Fl lost to unranked Maryland

This will cost all SEC teams SOS etc.

We better be glad Oats scheduled tough OOC and we must keep winning them.

"As far as Keon goes, on the shots he's missing, he's hesitating before he shoots."

I was at the game last night and noticed that. It was really obvious on a late 3 when he was wide open and first looked to pass and then shot without getting set.

Sampson called Byrne and Oats and apologized for his behavior after the game. At least he realized he was wrong.

Beat me to it.

Not the season to be hiring a coach in the SEC.

Florida, UGA, Vandy, South Carolina, Mizzou, and State may all be in the market together.

Ole Miss might be too. They just built that new arena. I think he’s a good coach but he just hasn’t been able to get them going.

I saw that. At least cooler heads prevailed in the end.

And he owes us for a chair.

Didn't Bear send FSU a bill in the '70's for destroying their coaches in Tuscaloosa box after a bad call?

Shead is a good dude.

LINK

That shite was intense, and he didn't let it drag him down. I wish that guy the best in life, for being a decent dude when he could've just as easily walked by.

On a happier note if we can pull this off tomorrow night how many of you thought we'd go through this stretch 2-1 or even 3-0?

The guards are carrying this team and will get even better as the year progresses.Ellis is too good to keep playing at this level offensively, hell we have to have him playing better to get where we want to go. Get his shot falling this team could be really nasty.

But to REALLY be good, the bigs have to come through. Bediako has been a pleasant surprise and should continue to improve, but we have to have Gurley playing at a higher level. He's capable I think, he's got to come on. Gary is Gary, he busts his arse every night but a 6'6 guy can only do so much and it was glaringly obvious on the boards vs Houston.

The man scored points and played a great game, but at the end of the day hes a small forward asked to play among the trees. This isnt a criticism of him what this is is saying we have to have others step up to be what we want to be.

Who would have thought we could potentially enter 2022 and our only non con loss to date could be dang IONA OF ALL TEAMS.

Ill take it though with all things considered gladly

Man I would have been totally satisfied with 3 losses entering conference play. And Memphis is the only team to that isnt meeting or exceeding expectations. If we beat Memphis, Jack State, and CSU, Ill be over the hill

If I recall right we UCLA'd that game, missed free throws or we win. Bama's been pretty good since.

JD has shot well from the line and as he becomes more confident from the field we become more dangerous. Ellis will come round too I think the season and really big things hinges on the bigs being able to hold their own.

Are they as strong on the boards as Houston? If we could have matched Houston on the Boards, we'd have run them off the court! It's hard to run a successful fast break when you're inbounding the ball from underneath your own basket!

I'm not sure if anyone is as strong as Houston on the boards. They have a bunch of 6'8-6'10" 230 lbs+guys, who are athletic. That's a lot of beef to box out and steal boards. Us being in early foul trouble made it that much harder.

We also shot over 77% from the stripe and nearly 40% from 3s. If we had our season average on either of those, we lose. A cold night would have had us run off our own floor. Shack’s back to back 3s, including the 4 point play, were absolutely huge in crucial moments to fight back and get the lead. Who would have thought that one of our best shooting nights would have come against a defense as good as Houston’s? And we needed everyone of those points! Got to get the rebounding fixed as we won’t shoot that well every game in March away from Coleman (and I agree with those that have said the next time I want to see Houston is next season…and that is going to be a blood bath).

No but they are still good. Offensive rebounds is like Houston’s identity, they’ve always been elite in that category under Sampson and probably the main reason they win
