A&M has a long way to go yet, but Buzz is making a difference there already. If they get a couple of sleeper kids to blow up, they could be dangerous. Not in contention for a bid, but the kind of team that's just outside of the bubble and will ruin your night occassionally.

They won't keep good teams out of the tournament, but a home loss to a horrific team like UGA or Mizzou in February is the kind of game that drops you a seed.
I don’t really care about seeding with a good team.
It’s important if you’re an okay team trying to back your way into a tournament run, but we should be real contenders next season. Whatever seed we are we should be able to make a run.

A more ethical option? Are the Amish available?

We could go the Qatari route and bring in slave labor from Bangladesh as both construction workers and building materials.

im curious why you and mistaken are that high on kentucky. they seem solid but very beatable to me. on paper kellan grady looks to be their top player. perhaps its the impact yall think that fr collins will bring?

I have Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Florida (I know Mike White isn’t a great coach, but with Johnson returning, and them hitting the portal well, I got em as a sleeper next year) Auburn and Kentucky are basically close interchangeable teams with Florida, but Kentucky is kind of all over the place right now but is still Kentucky and probably has a few more transfers/recruits otw before next year and Auburn lost a lot and doesn’t really scare me on paper but will still be a good club,
yea, if fl gets the real johnson back thats pretty impressive. even without him i think theyd be pretty tough. auburn is a big question mark to me. tons of young talent but could go either way.
so far im thinkin bama, tenn, state, arky, fl, kent, auburn, with lsu as a bubble team. i expect the sec to be the toughest conference with 5 or 6 teams fighting for top 4 seeds.

A competent coach with Florida’s talent would scare me. Mike White ain’t competent so I ain’t scared

One of the top forwards in the class of 2022, Jalen Washington, discusses his interest in the Crimson Tide.
Will someone please hook us up?

I agree on State being in the hunt. Getting Brooks and Jeffries really improves their roster. They do need another good point guard to back up Molinar - other than Rick Stansbury's son who will be on the team this year. Still a five of Molinar, Jeffries, Stewart, Brooks, and Tolu Smith or our old teammate Javian will be pretty tough.

Five-star point guard JD Davison plans to begin life as an Alabama basketball player later this month, he told The Commercial Appeal on Thursday.
"I'll arrive on campus May 23 and just start everything May 24th, summer courses and summer workouts and all that," Davison said. "Just to get comfortable and all that and just to be there so I can be working and not be just outside with all the other stuff."
The 6-foot-3 senior is the No. 2 point guard and No. 12 overall prospect in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite. He averaged 32.4 points, 10.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists. He led Calhoun School to the state semifinals and scored 45 points in his final high school game.
The two-time AHSAA Class 2A Mr. Basketball winner signed with Alabama in November. His hometown of Letohatchie, Alabama, is about two hours away from Tuscaloosa. He said he picked Alabama because of how close it is and its style of play.
"That’s home and then you’ve got the play style. You’ve got to go somewhere where you can rock out and have fun and play your game," Davison said. "So I just went there because of the play style, fast, shooters around me and all that. And I know (Alabama coach Nate) Oates is going to let me play and have fun."
He's also looking forward to building on the Crimson Tide's success from this past season. Alabama's 2021 recruiting class is ranked No. 7 in the country and No. 2 in the SEC.
"We won the SEC and the SEC Tournament and went to the Sweet 16," Davison said. "I’m just planning on doing it all again and going even further than the Sweet 16."
Davison is one of 30 players selected for this week's Iverson Classic All-American game at Bartlett. He said that he's enjoying being back in Memphis and getting one last look against major competition before heading to Tuscaloosa.
"It’s good just to come out here and play basketball with the pandemic and all the other stuff we’ve been dealing with," Davison said. "So it feels good to come out here and compete against the top players in the country.
"Being 17-18 years old in front of NBA scouts with everybody trying to go is just amazing to think about. It’s just really good for everyone out there."

Five-star power forward Jalen Washington has been on Alabama’s radar for over a year now. The Crimson Tide staff connected with the Gary (Ind.) West Side product recently over video chat.
“We did a Zoom not too long ago,” Washington told BamaOnLine. “We were just touching base again, see each other’s face again, just catch up again. We talked about possibly setting up a visit. We saw a little bit more of the additions getting added to their facilities and their campus. We saw a little recap of their season. They showed us their conference rings, which were pretty nice. They showed us the boost in the players’ numbers since they’ve been there. It was a refresher pretty much. They always have kept in frequent contact. It had just been a while since we did a Zoom.”
Tide assistant Bryan Hodgson is the lead recruiter for the UA staff.
“I feel like I’m kind of connected to him a little bit,” Washington said. “I know how genuine of a guy he is and how hard of a worker he is. He used to work at Duke camps with my high school coach. He let me know he’s a real good guy. You can hear that when you talk to him. He’s real genuine. He just wants to get you there and get to work.”
Washington is also a fan of UA head coach Nate Oats.
“He’s great. I feel like he gets his players better,” Washington said. “The players have had major improvements in like one year since he’s been there. They’ve been like top 25 to the best team in their conference. I feel like he’s a great coach.”
Washington kept tabs on Alabama throughout the season.
“I got to see them pretty frequently,” he said. “I know they like to play fast. That’s really important. They like to get a lot of shots up. They like to shoot threes. They like my versatility and me being able to shoot the three. They said my length helps on the defensive side as well.”
A visit could soon be in the works.
“We’ll probably get something set up pretty soon,” Washington said.
UA is likely on Washington’s short list at this point in time.
“They’ve been in pretty recent contact, so I’m pretty familiar with Alabama,” he said.
At 6-foot-9, 210 pounds, Washington is rated the No. 4 power forward and the No. 20 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.

yea their depth seems to be their only glaring weakness. against us their average speed and shooting will also be one, but in general bully ball with a top backcourt is pretty legit.

I think State will be a bubble team.
I don't have strong feelings either way on Kentucky. I think they could be a Top 10 level team or they could be a bubble team. I just don't exactly know what to expect, but I do think that their roster will be much more well rounded this year in terms of shooters.

looks like LSU is getting a commitment this morning from 7Efton Reid. That would put LSU's class at #7. LSU should be NCAA bound next year with that. Who knows how far they can go. Love that all the SEC schools are finally committing to being good to great in basketball. I remember when the league barely put 2 teams in the NCAA tournament.

I think you will hear from the ncaa before bball season and it wont be good. This new independent committee hasnt gone away. They said it would take until at least this July before they would be begin to come to a final resolution on the cases that had been turned over to them. If your bball coach continues to refuse to cooperate, they will have no choice but to drop the hammer.

Even though your coach is a slimeball and has no business being in the game, what kind of player is Reid?? Haven’t heard of him but seeing he’s a 5 star I’m assuming he has some strong upside and skill (and deeper pockets now)
