If you’re turning down top 30 nationally ranked in state players who are being recruited to Kansas and who want to come to you …all because of bigger fish then you damn sure better have the hook set… which clearly we didn’t.

That could all very well be true but Id like to hope there’s more to it than that for my own peace of mind

Something kinda funny in the Bama basketball fan world.

Apparently Mac went to the Trilly discord Bama section and used a different name. They proceeded to cuss him and straight up dogged him out. He went back to BOL and said the discord is a piece of shite.

They looked at the writing style, saw his BOL post and realized they ran off one of the only decent Bama insiders, and started getting to get him to come back.

He's not gonna come back. Because he's right that discord is fricking horrible. But surprising, since it's discord, but there's some young as hell posters on there.

I don't even understand why discord is popular, because it's usability sucks. It's like if the rant was all over post, and going back to read old comments is a huge pain. It's just a much shittier version of a message board.

Or, Oats didn't think he'd be a good fit based on what he'd seen from him in Mobile, in comparison to what he wanted in NIL. But he had a great year at Link Academy, even shot 44% from 3.

I don't have a clue. Just playing devil's advocate. Though I definitely get what you're saying, and mostly agree.

Rarely am I an insider but apparently this past weekend Nelson was telling the patrons at Harry’s that he’s coming back

Hi JB,

Glad to know you've been around awhile to watch the Tide all these years!
I remember listening to every play on the radio intensely (as games were not broadcast then on TV) to the likes of Leon Douglas, Reggie King, Charles Cleveland and all the rest that followed. Being a guard, my favorite player of all time was Ennis Whatley... the only problem was he was to much of a magician for the other guys like Bobby Lee Hurt to know the ball was coming sometimes. Also you can't leave out legends like Mo Williams, Robert Horry, Antonio McDyess, etc. Have always loved Tide basketball. Roll Tide!!

If I'm being honest, I think Philon is kind of a missing piece in the team's construction thus far, and could actually play a big role for us. Right now, we don't have a whole lot from a penetration standpoint. Sears can get to the paint a bit, but Estrada put on an absolute clinic on how to get inside the teeth of the defense. He's going to be a piece that we will really miss next year, and haven't really replaced so far. While he established his jump shot this year, Philon has always been more of an athletic guard who can get by his man and finish in the lane. Also sets us up for a good backcourt combination of Philon and Aden for when we lose Sears.

When will we know how things shake up for sure? I’m eager.

I’ve been more excited for bama basketball than any sport the past few years. However, this is a diff level. I’m going full BOG baby, or BOG first at minimum.

I was thinking earlier that Philon reminds me a bit of Estrada if Estrada was a better athlete. He also has a pretty good reputation as a defender. We certainly don't have anyone on the current roster with his game. If his shot is actually improving he could be a huge add.
