Alabama: Makes final 4 once in history

Also Alabama: “Final 4 or bust motherfrickers!”

Tells me that the fanbase has picked up a lot of new followers since Oats got to town, because most of us still have a tear in our eye from finally seeing us make our first F4.

For a while there I was worried that I was going to be like an 85 year old Red Sox fan that died in 2003.

Portal is closing soon and he hasn’t mentioned anything about leaving. He seemed to enjoy the tournament run and his growth.

One good thing about Stevenson is he has a different perspective than most other players. Both his parents played basketball, and his dad played pro overseas. So they know that chasing bigger bags may harm his future career. And with his measurables, he probably has the most pro potential of any player on last year's squad. I think his parents like oats' ability to develop players for the NBA. Otherwise, he wouldn't have come to Bama.

boogie, zoom, and I'm sure there's another PG.

Philon just also seemed not interested in Bama. He was who I wanted early but just seemed anti

If we land him it’ll be quite the rollercoaster

It was the other way around.

Wrong. Oats wasn’t after him hard because He was going after bigger fish.

I was in Mark's Madness over 20 years ago as a student. I'm no Johnny Come Lately.

It’s damn near orgasmic.

Philon has high interest and we are interested too.

As of right now Nelson and Sears expected back. But Sears will go through process and will stay in if he gets a draft grade “he can’t turn down”

Cliff is visiting this weekend

A lot of balls in the air for Oats and company but he will not be caught off guard like he was last year with Bediako and JQ

There's no need to be defensive if the shoe doesn't fit.

Supposedly he wanted to commit to us, but didn't have a commitable offer. I think we were chasing other PGs like Boogie and Zoom. Just passing on what's been said elsewhere. Maybe Oats saw him as an undersized 2 instead of a PG.

This is what I appreciate the most about Oats. The drive to address any kind of weakness or inefficiency within the program immediately and overwhelmingly. I don't want to make the comparison because it isn't fair to Nate, but it honestly reminds me a bit of Saban.

I believe he's interested and is gonna take a visit. But damn, there's been so much either conflicting or straight up misinformation with Cliff. Let's just hope our sororities close the deal.

Idk. I mean I know we were going after Boogie and Zoom but Philon definitely should’ve been a priority. He seemed more interested in Auburn than us. Committed to them and then committed to Kansas when that went left without giving us a real look.

We shouldn’t ever be passing on in state prospects that Kansas and Baylor want.

It seemed to me we thought we had a better shot at Boogie or Zoom. I doubt if we were slow playing he’d come running to us now when he has lots of options. Seems more like the continued run we’re on now excited him.

Oats is learning from his mistakes. He got surprised by Bediako, and seems like he isn't gonna let that happen again.

One of the most interesting things is, per a source in Mobile near his recruitment, Alabama has always been a top choice for him. Nate Oats and his staff didn’t push for Philon the first time around, but he did enjoy a strong senior campaign. The same source said Philon started to have doubts about Kansas and has been mulling asking out of his LOI for some time, with it finally happening yesterday.

From Tim Watts himself. We were chasing bigger fish

And I have no doubt it was said he didn’t have a committable offer but that is often just message board stuff.

Who knows. Maybe I’m wrong. I’ll just be glad to have him. I think he’s a baller.

Or, he was interested in us but had other schools after him much harder. Possibly more NIL. But after seeing us go to the final four, and how are guards played with freedom, wants to be in our system. That, and I've heard he grew up a Bama football fan.
