Huh? What's up with that?

Don't see how that's legit. Bradley should be the back up PG.

I think it was just an error on KenPom.

A d it was a terrible cheeseburger. Bun was hard, probably stale. Meat was dried out. If not for the mustard, ut would have had no taste. Covid year, Local Roots had a concession place. Eugene’s chicken from Bham was in there last year, Chick Filet too. I’ll make a point of eating somewhere else pre-game.

The defense looks good compared to last year, although I don’t think the perimeter guys were really tested. Our interior defense has potential to be stupid good.

I just loved seeing guys like Miller, Clowney, and Pringle guarding guys at the perimeter. That's a lot of versatility for the 4 spot

Impossible to know what to make of a team after one game, but assuming we can be an average shooting team we have the length and athleticism to be very good.

Our shooting is gonna be a lot better than we showed last night, Quinerly and Welch are two of our best shooters and were out, Sears has shown before he can be a solid shooter, Griffin and Miller I think will round into being solid to good shooters. Miles, Burnett, and Bradley aren't bad shooters.

I am very high on this team, it will be one of our best ever imo.

Supposedly Burnette has been one of the best shooters in practice - so has Sears. Both were hitting at the recent breakfast practice. Bradley has struggled with his shot, but he does lots of other things as we saw last night. Miles is Miles. Who knows from night to night?

I loved what I saw Monday night. I am pretty concerned about the shooting in general long term, and the offense was pretty clunky, but we showed raw stuff in length, athleticism and effort that we prayed for all offseason. Stuff that doesn't come and go with good and bad nights like shooting.

Our length is going to be a problem for just about everybody we play. Our freshmen played with absolutely zero fear, but also absolute total control of themselves. Our depth made it so that when somebody did something stupid repeatedly (cough Miles cough), we sat their arse down and didn't have to keep playing them because we just didn't have enough bodies.

It's going to be an up and down process early on because of all the new guys and their makeup, but I feel really, really good about the overall makeup of this roster and what it will look like come February.

Even before Miles twisted his ankle, he looked like he was jogging out there. With as much talent and versatility as there is in this roster, the dude better start hustling, especially on defense. I was screaming at him through the TV a few times before he went down at the end of the half.

Alabama’s defense allowed Longwood to score 0.69 points per possession on Monday night. That is the lowest figure for the Crimson Tide since 11/29/16, when they allowed 0.62 PPP in a 76-46 win over Charleston Southern.

And while Longwood missed some good looks, the majority of those misses were because they were effected.

They had a turnover at some point in the 1st half because a wing caught a pass at the free throw line and immediately looked to get rid of it instead of pull up or drive to the rim - that was 100% due to the first 10 minutes of blocks and bothers around the rim.

We aren't a super sound defensive team yet, but man we make up for it with length, athleticism and effort.

Miles has been injured and not playing fwiw until the past few days. I think I'd slow the 'he's not giving effort' takes.

I don't think Miles doesn't give effort. I think Miles is a sloppy offensive player who is what he is, and anyone expecting some big jump from the last 2 years is probably going to be disappointed.

I like the guy, I'm glad he's on the roster, but I also feel pretty confident in what he is as a player.

They had to work for everything they got, which is really all you can ask for from the defense. If they make the other team work every night they'll lose a few because sometimes teams just go unconscious and there's nothing you can do about it, but for the most part we will be in every game like we were a couple of years ago. Last year we gave up 20+ uncontested shots in every game. I don't think that'll be a problem with this group. Hopefully the attitude they were playing with wasn't just adrenaline for the opener. They seemed hell bent on contesting everything and playing physically around the basket.

Same. This year the OOC schedule, for me, is just an opportunity for everyone to gel, work out some kinks, give JQ a run and see how he handles everything, and then get ready to bring it all together when conference play starts. I'm not expecting the OOC resume like we had last year but if we can accumulate some nice wins to add to our March resume, then that's even better. There will be some great nights and frustrating nights but after seeing the potential from this team on Monday, I am very hopeful for a deep run when we develop into a more polished product.

Yep, and it's also just easier for them to do it because of their body types.

Clowney and Pringle are erasers, Miller looks like gumby and Griffen is extremely long too. We also did a helluva job of not leaving our feet and jumping straight up and down. Longwood did a better job in the 2nd half of drawing some fouls around the rim, but even those were very close to not being fouls and our guys did a pretty good job.

I mean - that was an experienced, NCAA tournament Longwood team and they were absolutely SHOOK in the 1st half on offense.

Nah, just got a lot of work going on. Unfortunately the LSU game went basically how I thought it would go (maybe not the loss itself, but the game play).

He's a good team guy but not reliable. It's why I thought his minute projections were way off and he would have been a transfer candidate after last season. I knew he wasn't going to start or see the minutes he would want. Injury or not, his decision making and lack of control are the biggest issues. (always have been)

Glad you're back.
