But I love the uni's that Ohio State is wearing today. I wouldn't be mad at all if we had Alabama or Crimson Tide in cursive on the front of our jerseys. Reminds of the early 80's Chicago Bulls. It's an excellent look imo.
Yep, those are clean. I honestly would like a red jersey with a cursive script in the middle, I would drool over that concept

Brandon Miller scored a season-high 36 points against Gonzaga, the most by an Alabama player since Kira Lewis Jr. scored 37 during a 105-102 overtime win at Georgia during Nate Oats’ first season in charge of the Crimson Tide in 2020.

This is all on me, guys. I watched a little bit of the game today and that set us on a bad course. Even though I turned it off before halftime, the jinx was already in motion.

Agreed we need to stop playing there

I enjoyed the atmosphere today and had really awesome seats. Unfortunately the defense was a Charlie Henry special from last year where we couldn’t adjust / find the way to get any stops. Hard to have momentum and game pressure on Gonzaga when their same sets worked time and time again.

This Carolina/OhioSt game is a banger

You can blame a lot on defensive play and that's fine but a team shooting 74% from the floor is just absurd. I don't know what you do against that.
You try a different defense

We lose, but the teams we beat win big games.
How does that affect the NET?

we could've played better but tip your hat, great win for them.
Every one of us would've taken 10-2 going to Starkville and now that game is HUGE.
LFG!
I'm still all in.

My worthless 2 cents:
Loss isn’t going to kill us, but may keep us from playing in Bham in March (which may not be a bad thing given we suck there)
1. Horrible post defense…the few double teams they tried were absolutely laughable (Clowney did get a tie up but easily could have been called for a foul…you never double team with your hands down)
2. Not smart basketball. Bad TOs, ill advised shots, and went back to ISO ball after running some real offensive sets in the first 8 min.
3. Way too many open floaters to a team that clearly practices them and can make them from 6 feet away
4. We stopped crashing the glass after we started running 5 out instead of the offensive sets we ran in the first few minutes. We were up 12-3 on the boards when we actually were running an offense that didn’t have our superior length standing at the 3 point line
5. Questionable substitutions. Griffin has to play more and Miles coming in when we’re struggling with TOs made zero sense. Q actually played better on ball defense, but still a liability on rebounding (gave up an and 1 on an O-board to a big guy) and especially on help defense. On offense, he alternated between spectacular pass, horrible TO, and wild shot on a drive. His shooting isn’t good unless he gets in rhythm, which seems to take 2-3 misses first (hard to shoot well cold off the bench, but that’s what bench players have to do).
6. Horrible post defense x2 - if they beat you with 3s, it happens. But don’t let them keep getting layups in the paint!!! I said the same thing as Joka 5 min into the 2nd half, put Pringle in and tell him that he better have 4 fouls and Timme better be bleeding in the next 4 minutes. You have to bully him and get him off his game…and we should be practicing double teams every day leading up to Tshiebwe and KY.
7. Missed way too many wide open shots…Sears
8. Refs weren’t great. Didn’t deserve to win though
9. We may be the least capable team of taking advantage of a post mismatch. Several times on switches we had a guy 10 inches taller in the post and never once fed him the ball. Thought Oats said “we missed some big guys” after last game so I was hoping that would be different tonight…it wasn’t.
10.Gonzaga shot better than their average…tip the cap and better be ready for sold out MSU after this next one
P.S. Miller single handedly kept us in the game. He had that “refuse to lose” mentality and did all he could. That was impressive and should help get other guys opportunities going forward. Hope he has a similar mentality come Tourney time. Here’s to you Miller…thanks for coming to Bama!!!

That drop coverage on defense killed us.
On to the next one though.
Don't overlook Jax State...we got to avoid a letdown.

Look at their shot chart…that’s a defensive travesty. Just completely unacceptable. Make them beat you from 3, which they very well might have done that today, but then you tip your cap.

Ok, now I’m on to the next one.

Sadly, but with a team reliant on younger players where the oldest players can be weaknesses, these kind of games happen.
Good experience for March though.

A veteran team beat an inexperienced team. We’ll be better deeper into the season. Our youth competed offensively, even though Bradley missed clutch layups when we desperately needed them to take the lead, defensively we were lost. Gonzaga was the better team today without a doubt.
Also why is Timme, a Senior, still in college if he is so good? Guess NBA doesn’t want him very much.
With TOs as the exception, we played pretty well. Our intensity was good, but their experience (clutch plays/shooting) kept us from getting back into the game later in the 2nd half.
Gonzaga is an excellent team and we are, too.

Yeah the offense outside of turnovers was fine today, just a cold day for Sears sadly but we put up 90 and that’s WITH 21 turnovers
However, the turnovers and especially the defense were baffling
Gonzaga is good, so they’re obviously going to put up a fight and it’s not a horrible loss, but the defensive gameplan was confusing today. It was like we were okay with them abusing us in the paint and midrange floaters and had no desire to even try to contest or switch on ball screens to prevent guards getting downhill (and man do we miss Burnett)
That’s my biggest irk with today. We just didn’t even try and adjust defensively. The turnovers sucked but some were questionable charges, and the rest were just goofy, especially the few in crunch time when we got it down to 6
Everything is still in front of this team however, so move on to Jackson State and get ready for SEC play with a massive one at MSU
