Action packed game...Jarace Walker is a beast for Houston but so is our very own Brandon Miller.
Damn, if we could've landed them both...
Glad we got as much as we did. But those 2 together would be insane.

UConn is tough. Suffocating Florida in Gainesville.

Seems like he’s been day-to-day for a month

Welch's injury is a lot more severe than Nate is letting on, or Welch isn't responding to any of the treatments he is getting. Concealing the extent of a role player's injury makes no sense at all, but I am starting to think it may be what is going on. Even with no treatment at all a run of the mill calf strain should resolve itself in less than a month.

Would a calf strain require a boot? Welch was wearing a boot at the SDS game this past Saturday.

We won last year's game because of 2PT FGs (and FTs), mostly because JQ had his way getting to the rim and Gary got a bunch of putbacks. This season the offense runs through JQ and Miller, and they've both been appallingly bad from inside the arc (both right at 34% 2PT FG %). That dog won't hunt Saturday"
This is the most frustrating thing to me about Oats's style of offense. Players are taught to shoot layups and 3's with seemingly no midrange. So when a shot blocker is waiting for us to go to the hole, we are unable to pull up and take a short shot. I would love for someone to point me to the last time any of Bama's players took the ball to the basket with bad intentions. We are absolutely petrified of having our shot blocked.

On them twitter spaces somebody who worked in the building said he had seen Welch doing either some zero gravity or pool stuff(can’t remember exactly what he said) which is what people with more serious injuries do

I doubt it, but haven't they been describing it as a "calf injury"? That's the only calf injury I can think of. Usually ankle or foot sprains are described as just that and anything with an Achilles is a "foot injury" if they want to be vague.

If it really is his calf, he must have some torn muscle. A boot would keep the foot from moving and help the muscle heal.
It would be nice to have him for depth and options, but at this point, I'm just riding with the team we have until I actually see him contribute.

I think that was the first game he hadn't had the boot on. He seems to be making progress at least and did hint on Twitter earlier in the week that he was getting closer.
replied to the wrong person my bad.
