Please forgive my ignorance in asking this question. I'm a Bama grad but have never been to a Bama softball game. My wife and I are going to the game today. We have brickyard tickets. I have two of those padded seats with a back on them for sitting on bleachers (not chairs). Are you allowed to bring something like these into the game? Thank you.
I appreciated watching him intercept Eric Ainge twice in 2007 in Tuscaloosa when we whipped UT. I think he was a freshman.

That was good. Thanks. What is "baw"?

Quote: "Finishing at the rim. This is what concerns me the most. We won last year's game because of 2PT FGs (and FTs), mostly because JQ had his way getting to the rim and Gary got a bunch of putbacks. This season the offense runs through JQ and Miller, and they've both been appallingly bad from inside the arc (both right at 34% 2PT FG %). That dog won't hunt Saturday"

This is the most frustrating thing to me about Oats's style of offense. Players are taught to shoot layups and 3's with seemingly no midrange. So when a shot blocker is waiting for us to go to the hole, we are unable to pull up and take a short shot. I would love for someone to point me to the last time any of Bama's players took the ball to the basket with bad intentions. We are absolutely petrified of having our shot blocked.

Did Namari Burnett play the other night? I did not see the game and did not see his name mentioned.

In my opinion, Shack was in dire need of someone he respected to tell him the hard truth that he is not athletic enough to play in the NBA. I believe, with his shooting ability, he could play overseas.

"Hows that disturbing? Pretty easy to understand... U do something wrong the S&C conditioning coach is gonna have u running the arena steps or something grueling in weightroom until u puke."

It wouldn't be if we did not display an extreme level of undiscipline. Maybe you can imagine this scenario, but I can't: Nick Saban lamenting Scott Cochran leaving the program because he handled the discipline. I believe Nick Saban "handles" the discipline. He may not be standing there when it is carried out, but he decides who needs to be disciplined. Oats appears to struggle mightily with this aspect of coaching.

"Sorry, but Shackleford is no part of a leader. When his shot's not going, he disappears, plus he can't guard a fire hydrant.
The portal's our best hope for some true leadership.
PS- Did you watch Miami last night?"

You are correct. This team had zero leadership. This is certainly magnified by the fact we also seem to have zero discipline. The turnover issue was never rectified. We consistently put the other team in the double bonus in both halves because of our reckless fouls. We displayed horrible basketball IQ as a team consistently. I also found it especially troubling that our head coach stated publicly that our recently departed s/c coach handled team discipline.

Did I get downvoted for saying JS is not a PG? He isn't. He is a shooting guard. JQ is the PG. Goodness gracious.

Whoever Joey Blackwell is obviously doesn't know anything about basketball. Shackelford may be many things in this life, but a point guard he ain't.

Is he a PG? Are we pinning our hopes on Davison coming back and running the point?

I'd rather see the barn lose.

All of that analytics stuff fails to take into consideration important variables. Of course a layup is a higher % shot compared to a mid-range jumper, but it isn't if Kessler is standing in the center of the lane. Of course a three is a better shot % wise than a two with your back heel on the line unless you are under duress on the three or your name is Rojas, Holt, or Gary. Also, we sometimes don't take decent twos in hopes for a shot more analytically profitable only to have to shoot a shot under duress late in the clock. I don't have a problem with the initial goal of the offense being to shoot AN OPEN lay-up or three, but some common sense should be applied. Up to this late hour in the season, we have shown very little ability to apply common sense to much of anything we have done this season on a macro level. On a micro level, we have had good showings in a handful of spots.
