Those were some deep 3's too. Not much UK could've done differently.

Nope, their fans are acting like Cal should've had the "attached to the shooter at 25+ ft" defense on though.

KY with another disappointing season.

3 SEC teams to the Sweet 16.
BAMA, ARKY, UT.

I know Cal has a monster class coming in but they’re all locked in already...I’d fire this clown. Buyout makes things very difficult for Big Blue, though.

Yep. And those kids would just immediately enter the portal.

With Kentucky's loss to Kansas State, this will be the second NCAA Tournament since expansion in 1985 without Kentucky, Duke, or North Carolina in the Sweet 16 (also happened in 2021).

Doubt it. They’d wait to see who gets hired first. They’re going to Kentucky to be one and done. That doesn’t change with Cal gone.

Hopefully, Cal will stick around at Kentucky.

Kentucky will come after and get Oates, if Cal leaves.

One positive in keeping him in Tuscaloosa is that he has school aged children.

Oats ain’t going to Kentucky. Maybe a place like Michigan or UNC/Duke, but not Kentucky. I think the NBA is more likely than anything else if we can’t hold on to him.

Calipari probably starting to wear thin with the UK faithful. Looked like they were the better team, had a big size advantage, and were in the bonus with 11 minutes to go and couldn’t close that game
He had NO answer for that little 5'8" guard for KSU....kid's a real problem.

If he goes anywhere,he'll replace Izzo at MSU.

1) Oats isn’t leaving, wish people would stop bringing it up. This has been discussed thoroughly several times before.

2) If he did leave, it would be for NBA and definitely not MSU. Have you seen the pictures of Oats on his boat? I lived around the Midwest growing up including 3 yrs in Wisconsin. You can only be “on the lake” 2 months out of the year in Michigan vs 6 months in Bama. He’s not going back that far North…it won’t happen.

Yeah, I really don't get why people think MSU is his dream job. He happened to work at a high school in Michigan. It's not his home. He's from Wisconsin. He also worked in NY, but nobody thinks he's going to Syracuse.

I've always said, if we lose him, it will be to the NBA. And that's not happening soon.
