Agreed. Purdue has Zach Eady and that's pretty much it. Houston hasn't played anyone with a pulse outside of us.

But this is March, so anything could happen

To put it in perspective, if you were to convert the final regular season KP rankings from 2017 into NET rankings, UMBC would have been a Q3 loss for UVA on a neutral floor. They weren't some great team or anything, but they weren't your typical 16 seed either. Conversely, FDU is one of the worst teams to ever end up in the NCAA tournament.

Here's a post from Reddit, putting it in more perspective...

quote:

So in summary Purdue just lost to a team that is:

- Ranked Above 300 in Kenpom the whole year

- Didn't win their conference tournament

- Didn't win their conference regular season title either

- is in the NEC which ranks 32/32 for D1 conferences in the country in kenpom

- Went 4-22 Last year

- A first year coach that transitioned from D2

- Average height of players is 6'1"

- Ranked 359 in Defense in Kenpom

EDIT: They got into the tournament because they made it to their Conference finals as their opponent (Merrimack) was not eligible to make the NCAAT because of the 4 year transition period rule. They also finished Runner-up in their conference during the regular season.

They were also #363 in effective height on KenPom, Purdue was #1. Straight up David vs Goliath.

Lol. frick Purdue.

They're screwed without Sasser and Shead. But they were good, as we saw up close and personal.

he has a good team so why would it be luck. AU has the advantage of playing Houston with their best player hurt.

Houston’s Marcus Sasser (groin) will start and will not have any minute restrictions today against Auburn, source told @stadium. Sasser could have come back in first round game, but Houston coaching staff held him out.

It’s not being reported nearly enough that the boyfriend skipped the damn hearing. That is hypothetically the prosecution’s star witness

The boyfriend could still be charged with her murder too. If she dies as a result of something he started, he gets a murder charge.

Not trying to get into an argument over this on game day but everything you said is why I said it’s fine to root for the SEC (and rivals) during our OOC portion of the regular season because that affects our Strength of Schedule and ratings.

I just think pulling for rivals in the tournament isn’t worth it just to thump your chest over conference pride when the entire country is basically rooting against us, especially this season.
