The issue with a team having to rely on conference tournament wins to get off the bubble is that about nine other schools rely on those wins. So yeah they're not useless but most teams need a significant shake-up in regard to other schools on the bubble. For Vanderbilt, a Q3 win against LSU a couple of days ago does almost nothing for you when most other bubble teams picked up a Q2/Q3 win but that Q1 win against UK has put them in the conversation and gaining another Q1 win today against A&M could get them on the right side.
It's unfortunate for a team like Vandy still having a difficult path with the way they've been playing but that's why it's so important to not live on the bubble by the beginning of March.

At the rate these ticket prices are going down, I may watch today's game at the chicken shack and then make a trip up to Nashville tomorrow if we win today. Some nice prices on some good seats.

Vandy’s problem isn’t that they got a Q3 win a few days ago. They took a Q3 loss.
That’s hard to overcome when they were already in a hole.

I've said it before, history shows that the committee doesn't weigh too much about conference tournaments, unless the unexpected wins the automatic bid

To be honest Dykes has been much better lately calling our games. He had issues with Brandon Miller at the beginning of the year but as this smoke came around Brandon not once has Jimmy bashed him. He’s been very complimentary of him.
