Sears-Griffen-Stevenson-Nelson-Wague
If you need defense, why not try this lineup?
Let’s use Stevenson as a Wing Defender rather than a Post Defender.
I think it's a lineup worth trying.

Walters, Pringle, Wague and Griffen all look like D-2 players. Simple fundamentals like dribbling, rebounding, and defending they all seem foreign to. I may be in the minority but I know what I’m about to say is the truth. If we keep JQ, Jaykwon, Walton and Nimari Burnett along with RJ Johnson this is a top 20 team.

We just got work to do.

I would sit Estrada until he learns to play defense all the time not just half the time. Insert Davin Cosby for him.

Nelson has to get tougher period.

Same for the rest of the bigs.

Regroup and come back better next game. I still like the potential of this team. They just got to put it together consistently.

Walters isn't quite ready but he's not a D-2 player neither is Griffen.

Wague plays to fast and we miss Pringle on lob opportunities a lot.

RJ Johnson was a big loss because he could bully guys at the guard position.

Seems like Oats takes off every other year.
This is the off year.

Joka…we are now in dangerous territory. We needed last nights game. A win last night would have meant we might could have gotten away without a win in our Big3 coming up. Now we gotta find a way to win 1 of those games.

I just think we are gonna be back to Constantly looking at Last4In/First4out territory this year

We are nowhere near dangerous territory lol. We got plenty of opportunities to get BETTER and win big games.

Guys just have to grow up.

Defense is giving up 88 points per game the last 3 games. Those are the only 3 games against Power 5 teams this year so far. They’re 1-2 in those games.

This is an NIT team right now.

first post but we shot under 35% for the game. I think the first half we were 2 for 15 in the first 10 or so minutes. At one point it was 1 for 10. Nelson was horrible.

Lost 2 of 3 vs P 5 schools. Sears and Astrada lead the team in scoring which has become a norm

A good thing there's plenty more games to get better and learn.

We've played 7 games lol...not 20 but 7!

This group will go nowhere until they start playing defense. Defense travels but offense can be sporadic. They really have no clue or identity yet.

The first 19:00 last night were pretty good on defense.

Those last 21:00 tho

And you call yourself an Alabama fan? I'm 71 years old and have had season tickets since I graduated almost 50 years ago, and I was there last night, as usual, driving from Birmingham. So many great memories in Coleman, and Coleman can get plenty loud - even last night we we went on runs. We just got beat by a better team. As far as attendance, people were seated up in the rafters. The empty seats you see on tv are premium Tide Pride seats that FOGS buy only for Tide Pride points and put those seats immediately on Stub Hub, but they never come to games other than Auburn and Kentucky - if then. The same will be true in the matchbox gym so many, like you apparently, are clamoring for where a capacity of 10,000 will have 5,000 seats filled - and at hugely inflated seat costs.

He is at Kennesaw State because that is a level of competition where he can succeed.

Mistaken the issue is just as much on the offensive end when it comes to taking bad shots. We went up seven points and a timeout was called. Sears takes a heat check fresh into the shot clock. Clemson gets rebound goes down the court takes their time and their best player knocks down a three ball. Next possession Rylen Griffen takes a 40 foot jumper fresh into the shot clock. Clemson gets the rebound, run their offense and get another three. Our lead was erased that fast. If you can’t defend you need to make the most out of your offensive possessions.

You’re crazy if you think Offense is the problem. Last night was a bad offensive game and we still almost scored 80points

What y'all don't understand is that this is all part of Oats' plan. He's following Muss' strategy to suck early in the season, followed by a deep tourney run. Crazy like a fricking fox.

Kidding aside, there's some hilarious overreactions in this thread. We definitely look like shite. But some are acting like the season is already doomed. We have a lot to work on (including Oats using some fricking timeouts to kill opponent's momentum or prevent our guys from digging a huge hole when they're making bad decisions on multiple possessions). But this season is far from over.
