Bill O'Brien tried to do one thing right while he was here. But nobody listened. It feels strange watching him going into his NFL career. Part of me wishes him well, hope for the best, all that stuff. But a bigger part of me is just not a fan of his. There is so much scar tissue left from the last two seasons that i cant really believe in or give a shite about this guy. I dont ever recall feeling that way about another bama player going to the nfl. Ever.
Totally agree with you. I’m ready to turn the page to 2025. I hope that Milroe has his LinkedIn profile fired up and ready to go. Because he won’t last long in the NFL. Maybe he can sell LANK merch for a while after his football career ends.

This is zero surprise.
Again, Ty Simpson must be absolutely terrible or DeBoer is absolutely gutless.

It’s ridiculous to think that he basically held two coaching staffs hostage.

I have a buddy at the practices he said Milroe looked so bad he had to turn away a few times. Like when you’re embarrassed for someone it makes you embarrassed. Crazy this is where things were a few months ago.

Kind of. He’s just not a quarterback; BOB tried to tell him. NFL defenses will eat him alive.

The program's future is at a crossroads in 2025. It's an uphill battle vs NIL, getting a better foothold on in-state recruiting, and the head coach grabbing control of the reins and steering things in the right direction.
I am starting to think that part of the reason he's so bland and opaque in his pressers is because he's aware that every move he makes and word he speaks is under a microscope. When the fans critique your sideline attire, you know you are facing an uphill battle.
The 2025 season isn't wholly dependent upon QB play, but any waffling and indecision there is going to be received VERY badly by the fans.

After 3 years of $4, my take is anytime he had success it was an accident. The rest of his play was just his regular play.

Honestly if he continues to struggle like this he's going to be much a lock for day three
Everything about the Milroe mocks this early out have reminded me of Malik Willis. Mocked at top 5, then we actually got Willis in person with team scouts and he ended up in the third despite being more polished in ways than Milroe.

I wish that they still had Jon Gruden doing his one on one sessions with quarterbacks where they discuss plays. It would be entertaining as hell to see Milroe try to analyze an NFL play call with Gruden sitting there critiquing him. Interviews at the combine will also be very interesting.

He can only see the right 1/3 of the field. That will not work in the NFL.
The ESPN crew will feed their typical BS just like they did Trey Lance.
Wash Rinse Repeat.
So glad the owners of San Fran got what they paid for.

ESPN should be called WSPN.

How far he slides will probably depend on what the Titans and Giants do. If they take Ward and Sanders it could cause a knee jerk response from some dumbass team like the Jets because Brick Johnson got stoned and won a game of CFB25 by exclusively running QB power with Milroe. If no one desperately reaches for a QB in a terrible QB draft he's gonna slide a long way though.

Worked out fine for SF in the end with Purdy, but even Lance is a better passer than Milroe.

Considering what was given up for SF to move up, Lance is an all time draft bust, but they recouped some of the loss by fleecing Jerruh for a 4th rounder they turned into a starter, and then of course they also drafted Purdy with the last pick. They haven't suffered at all for what would have typically been a move that cripples a franchise for the better part of a decade.

I think his real point was that ESPN was hyping up Trey Lance for other reasons. If you catch my drift. Lance was a very polarizing player like Milroe. But ESPN hyped him up and the niners took him way too soon.

Like what? He's big, fast, and has a strong arm. That combination of traits is going to get NFL teams interested no matter what because that's just the currently preferred QB archetype. He was dinged so much as a prospect because his lack of significant football experience to that point was pretty stark. Y'all don't really think NFL GMs are consulting Mel Kiper for draft advice do you?

Lance was from an FCS school and played 1 game his last year before "opting out".
Lance had great success against poor competition while Milroe has had wildly inconsistent play against all manner of competition. They're not really comparable.
