The coaching staff does keep running Talty out there to kick. The coaching staff failed to find an even serviceable kicker for this year.
I'm sure he nails those all day in practice.
He needs to be gone, but he's all we've got this season.

You are not going to win too many games when you turn the ball over three times. Also, Okie has a field goal kicker and Bama doesn't.

The staff generated 21 points of offense. That’s not enough. DeBoer pissed away about 30 seconds at least in the first half that we could’ve used instead of having to settle for the FG. It was an atrocious game by anyone except the defense.

3 turnovers and a missed field goal is why this game was even close. Bad player execution.
Yep. I know it did not feel like it, but statistically we should have won easily.
We don't have an O Line that's ever going to make these types of games easy so expecting otherwise is delusional. Bad game plans don't reflect that kind of stat discrepancy

Why in the hell are we running an entire 7 minutes off the clock down by 2 points??? We are running clock behind??

we got our asses handed to us again.
No, we didn't. Even with all three stupid mistakes, just making the field goal wins us the game.
Their offense played like crap and they got lucky. Sometimes that's just how it is.

You think that if we make that fg they don't go for a td instead of a fg?
We play their game...they've dictated to us the last two years. We're playing their game not them playing ours.
I'm willing to bet they have another bad loss coming at them before the year is out

EXECUTION by the offensive players generated 21pts of offense.
The turnovers were huge and the #1 reason Bama lost. Pick 6 and 2 fumbles giving OU a short field led to 17pts.
This loss is not on the staff.

We beat the shite out of OU yesterday outside of about 5 plays, but unfortunately those plays made the difference. Coaches do not play the game themselves, all they can do is put the players in the best position to be able to win the game. Our coaches did that yesterday and certain players didn't execute well on some very key plays.

I don't expect to lose but stuff happens down in Lee County.
Kalen needs to do all he can to avoid a loss to AU at this point.

The ONLY thing I think was questionable was time management at the end of the game but I get trying to win on offense vs defense. However, we were playing lights out. We should have pushed fast. I'd rather have two potential drives than one long time consuming dink and dunk.
I DON’T get trying to win it on offense this time. I haven’t argued with this decision in past games but today was different. Today was not our day on offense and that was abundantly clear by the 4th quarter. Our defense who I have questioned numerous times this year was playing lights out. They gave up 16 points all day despite repeatedly being put in a bad situation by the O.
IMHO, yesterday was the day to realize that the defense was carrying us so let’s trust the D. When we get the ball with 7 minutes to go in the game, instead of taking our time and burning the clock, let’s go 2 minute drill, balls to the wall and try to score quickly. If we are successful, great, turn it over to the defense to hold that lead. If not, hope the defense can make another stand and get us another possession. That’s what I would have done.

I was screaming at my TV; cursing Grubb's ancestry because they were burning clock instead of moving fast I knew if it came down to Talty we were toast and we never even got the chance to do that.

I remember Gene Stallings saying something like “players play an entire football game for the chance to make 4 or 5 plays that make the difference in the ball game”

Bama outgained them by double. The defense was incredible. Stupid mistakes by individual players lost the game, not the scheme

And absolutely no reason to be afraid of giving them the ball back given how bad their offense had been. Should have assured points while a 2nd possession was in play before trying to bleed clock if needed. DeBoer’s press conference answers to questions about that last possession shows he has no clue sometimes…very disheartening.

There were plenty of coaching mistakes to go around. Talty and Williams’ fumble are on coaches. If Boz and I can call the fumble before it happens, then no excuse for DeBoer to make that mistake of having RW back there.

Williams makes me nervous every time he gets the ball in his hands. He’s an insanely talented player but he’s just as likely to fumble the ball as he is to score a touchdown. He’s been fumble prone going back to last season.

Totally agree. However, with the way Ty is throwing deep passes, I don’t see how we can move the ball any other way.
ETA: The lack of urgency is indefensible. We could’ve still ran the ball and thrown the short to intermediate passes with some semblance of clock management.

Even middle school coaches know you don’t put a person that’s scared to catch the ball over the middle on punt return. That’s just begging for a turnover.
I’m sure RW did fine as a PR in high school when he played against high schoolers, but it’s obvious to anyone paying attention that he is scared of getting hurt against SEC defenses and has dropped passes due to “hearing footsteps.” You don’t put that player in a position to be hunted by 10 guys that want to kill you and knock you out of the game.
