Pearl would absolutely consider us. First off, there aren't that many prestigious UNC-, Kansas-level jobs that will be open. Secondly, with his job history those type programs wouldn't consider him. I'm not saying he will come here if offered. But to say Alabama is beneath him is ludicrous.

Bill Walton alluded to some of the reasons that Howland was let go..If half of what he said was true then I don't want him.

Just a small thing, really, but:

Bill Walton absolutely loathed Howland. Take what he said with a grain of salt. It was on a personal level moreso than what Howland did coaching. If we get lucky and Grant is forced out, I'd contact Howland, Marshall, and then White from La Tech.

Pearl. What Alabama basketball needs right now is someone with some enthusiasm to get the people going. Pearl has that.
He also brings good coaching to the table which is also what this program needs.
