Wasn't an SEC caliber player? You do realize last year was his first year? Hard to say that a former top 100 player wasn't SEC caliber after his freshman year where he played very little.

He wasn't a top 100 player, but I digress. He was probably processed, but who cares at this point. His departure isn't going to make a huge difference next year or the following years.

He wasn't a SEC caliber player???? A kid with his shooting ability could thrive with the chance to play.

Career high three points. Come on, man. I realize it was just one year under a bad coaching staff, but he still couldn't get on the court, even with our injuries, and when he did he look completely lost. This might actually be a good thing. More scholarships for CAJ to work with.

Sucks but hopefully he's the last guy that leaves.

Meh. Wasn't an SEC caliber player. He could have success in a smaller school at a smaller conference.

It was his first season, Missouri was coming off of depletion of the roster and a coaching change. Sometimes you lose before you win.

His best player just transferred. They'll be just as bad next year, and I doubt he survives another 20 loss season.

He (Acuff) took Anthony Grant to overtime in 2011 against the Alabama team that went to the NCAA Tournament in an exhibition game and lost 67-60. I played ball with many of those men that played on that UAH team in 2011 that nearly won a national championship in Division II. He is a proven winner and men love to play for him in Huntsville.

Ask Missouri how hiring an in-state D2 coach worked out.

Is Lucky or anybody else saying anything about other candidates? Time to move on from Marshall.

Lucky: I have no additional news since my 8:00 post. With that said ... every hour this GOES on without Marshall and/or his family in the air to Tuscaloosa can not be considered positive.
AGAIN, ... just impossible to speculate on how these things will play out.

It's over. Get ready for the Steve Prohm era.

Newest update added to the OP: Summary from Shannon Terry:

*** Bill Battle's ~8 hour visit with Marshall was expected.

*** After the visit, the Alabama camp remained POSITIVE about landing Marshall.

*** According to several credible news sources, the Alabama offer appears to be at the upper threshold of the $3.5 to $4.0+ million range. That is consistent with what we have been reporting and hearing for the past couple weeks - but it's not likely WSU can come CLOSE to matching.

*** While the Alabama $$$ offer is definitely a factor and demonstrates the University's commitment to basketball, sources close to Marshall indicate that money is not the only and/or primary factor in his decision. Other factors include his legacy and his family.

*** Thus far, the only thing that has NOT gone as expected is the timeline. We obviously expected Marshall to have a final decision at this point. He's still mulling over his options.

*** According to sources, Marshall has given the Alabama contingent positive guidance throughout the entire PROCESS -- despite what outside national media has projected.

*** Even though Marshall is giving Alabama positive assurances, we still believe he has yet to make an ultimate decision. NEXT 24-48 hours are crucial.

So nothing we haven't been hearing for the past 2 days, basically.

Lucky posted something else. Can anyone summarize?

But everyone deserves ten chances, right? Awful move by Saban and it blew up in his face. Brings shame and embarrassment to the UNIVERSITY.

The family of the girl who he hit this time should sue.
