Man, Keelon missed a touchdown on that second pick. Oof

It wasn’t his best game but road SEC debuts rarely are.

He’ll need to improve before UGA for sure but I’m still sky high on him and that’s from someone who was skeptical of Milroe from the jump.

Its clear that you are a real fan of the program. I appreciate the knowledge and analysis that you bring. It's ok if you disagree with the film guy. I like the film guy but I definitely think there is room for two knowledgeable people to disagree about football.

Roll Tide. Thanks for your contribution.

I’m sure it does come off looking petty criticizing the Film dude, it just ticked me off when he was using clips of plays to demonstrate his points when it really wasn’t the OL’s fault (there were many that were that he could’ve used instead).

He did the same thing to RCW last week over effort with blocking. He's no different than any youtuber that knows that narratives, especially negative ones, are the easiest way to get people interested for views. Also lets not get crazy with the guys college football experience... he played at a D2 school that most of the big high schools in GA could line up and beat.

The issue is you were trying to portray the guy as not knowing what he was talking about. However, I know that's BS because I watch other former offensive linemen breakdown the same film and they basically are pointing out a lot of the same things as he pointing out. So to suggest he doesn't know what he's talking about is just total BS. I think you've got a lot of pride and ego in what you think you know and like to display it. It just screams insecurity when someone else who also knows football explains something and you start claiming the guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

“Pride and ego” from what exactly????
Wtf would I possibly obtain by “impressing” the 30 some-odd posters on this board about my football knowledge???
Are you going to mail me a check bc I “convinced” you that Thompkins is versatile enough to hold up as a “4-tech” (gasp) and is crushing it as the weakside 5 and that we have desperately missed the size and versatility on the DL we have now?

What would I stand to gain from that honestly?

I’m trying to converse with mutual Bama fans and I make comment about “the film guy” and now it’s like I’m a troll from an opposing fanbase.

I told you guys yesterday Nehemiah committed to the coaching staff. That’s a HUGE pickup at LB and as a 5-star in-state recruit.

Why not focus on that?

Sorry, but I can’t let this one go. This is an ignorant perspective of college sports. Non-D1 sports are not simply glorified high school.

D-3, lowest level above jr college. The guys who play D-3 are guys who were one of the best if not the best player on their high school team and all their teammates swore they were good enough to play D-1. In baseball, this guy hit 5 or 6 home runs as a senior. Pitchers have a fastball in the range of 82+. Basketball players often can dunk a ball are 6”4’ + and have really good handles. Both sports’ junior varsities can generally compete well with a junior college team even though only the junior college gets credit for a win, so the D-3 team will substitute very liberally and get a lot of guys playing time. Their varsities will rarely even sweat against a junior college team.

D-2 guys hit 8-10 home runs senior year in high school and a pitcher’s fastball goes 86+. Basketball players are a jump in size, athleticism and talent. They will handle a D-3 squad. High school teams stand no chance against a D-2 team. Their players are older, stronger and more experienced.

D-1. Most of their high school teammates believe they are a sure big leaguer some day soon. Hitters exceed 10 homers their senior year. Pitchers are 88+ for smaller programs, at least 90 for most, and mid to upper 90s quite often. Basketball players are often draft worthy players and superstars. D-2 schools don’t stand a chance against them.

Don’t despise lower level college sports. They are much, much better than you think.

THANK YOU!!! Go look across professional sports and see how many professional players (especially baseball) started off at lower level colleges and community colleges. If someone played on the college level of a sport that was also in HS, they were very, very good at the sport.

In my experience the guys who went D2 or D3 were good kids who played hard, pretty good high school players. Probably got an academic scholarship to the school.

FCS guys were the guys everyone swore would be big time but either didn’t do enough camps, plateaued in their last two years of high school, spotty grades/ACT, or a combination of those factors.

Oh and there was a guy a few years after I graduated that went to school with my bro that was probably FCS bound but got into a service academy to play ball then serve his country as a commissioned officer

You're using baseball and basketball to argue football? I'm not arguing that Mt Union wouldnt beat any high school team, but I have personal knowledge of the school that he played at and the time he did. Buford, and Thompson any many other top HS teams would give them everything they wanted.

I dont care about down votes. I know quite a few guys that know him IRL and he's a clown. I'm glad to see he's got a rabid following though. He's got guys on this board and Twitter acting like Swifties for him when anyone thinks he just spews narratives to get views to make more money.

Totally agree with this. Someone mentioned his lengthy posts, but I read them and try to understand. Anyone who has more insight and knowledge than me, I’ll listen to and try to learn.

Yeah I mean I don’t know anyone that would root for someone to fail (especially not even knowing them irl).

I feel like I stirred up a hornets nest by simply pointing out that he kind of hops on whatever narrative is popular around the SEC and then goes and pulls a handful of clips to demonstrate why this is the case, and it “helps it make sense to fans”.

It would be more impressive (imo) if he came up with his original “narratives” and was ahead of the media when he saw a trend happening positively or negatively for a team that would later on get them exposed or either cause them to have a breakout season.

Also, as previously mentioned (I know I’m over my 25-word limit), a lot of the clips he pulled from last year to demonstrate the struggles in the run game weren’t good examples at all.

You have 70+ offensive clips at your disposal, so it’s not difficult to find a guy not giving 100% effort every play or an Olineman getting beat 1v1.

I thought the examples from the two games I watched a year ago were very misleading.

For example, using Parker Brailsford blocking back on a 3-tech on “Power” as an example of allowing too much “penetration”, when that is VERY impressive to make that block at all and had nothing to do with the playside of the run nor the result of the run.

It came across to me (IMO) like he was jumping on whatever was the hot topic that the talking heads on ABC/ESPN are all talking incessantly about, and then finding weak examples to support it, when there are several legitimate examples of double teams being split, pullers not fitting up on the 2nd level, very slow vertical sets by the Tackles, etc….

To each their own though and I’m glad people enjoy him bc it’s a game and it’s a distraction from the daily struggles and adversity in life everyone has to deal with, so I wish I would’ve just stayed quiet and never commented to begin with.

Not every kid who ends up being a D-1 or professional player develops at the same pace. I played JUCO baseball with several guys who ended up developing so well during their two years in JUCO they went on to play at SEC schools. But when they came to JUCO they were no better than the rest of us.

I remember Rashad Johnson from Sulligent being a good player for HS but he walked on to Alabama and developed into an All-American in college by the time he graduated then had a decade long pro career before becoming a coach.
