We are finally seeing what it looks like to have an NFL caliber QB. It's going to make all future QB play really disappointing. Lol

I honestly was a little nervous that he might play too hyped up or be more mistake prone.

Tyson and Talia are drop back type QB's along with Mac. So the future looks pretty good. All 3 can escape from the pocket. Tyson is 6 feet 4.

I believe the position hardest to recruit is QB. Sites mis-judge them, and even Saban mis-judges them. How many 5-star QBs are scattered around college football right now that aren’t with their original team because they didn’t live up to the hype?
Blake Barnett, Jacob Eason, Shea Patterson? Remember Gunner Kiel? Phillip Simms? Ricky Town, Hunter Johnson?
We’ll get more Tua’s at some point, but a lot of things have to go right. Tua is breaking the mold for Alabama QBs, I think even more highly rated ones will give Bama a look now

There is almost no downside to Tua. However, he has balls of steel and let's some balls go that he shouldn't. That'll get ironed out eventually.
There were a few opportunities he got lucky in the NCG and last night. (e.g. turn around and escape the rush and throw a ball up to Jeudy for a TD).

I remember when Manziel used to do that crap and wondered what it would be like to have that on our side. Its amazing... no downside, IMO.

Manziel could afford to due to Mike Evans. 
We have some great WRs that help, as well. However, still needs to be cleaned up a bit. Overall I'm happy with Tua's progress. I can live with that compared to no reads and being afraid of throwing.

I am really looking forward to seeing how he handles a road atmosphere. That will be the next test.

i'm thinking week 3 at ole miss will tell us a lot about tua and his progress as well s the teams progress.

Ole Miss probably has a worse defense then Louisville. A&M will be the only defense with a pulse that Bama plays before November.

Oddly enough, this is the least of my concerns about him.
He'll never face a tougher atmosphere than coming off the bench down 13 with the national title on the line against Georgia IN GEORGIA. He will be fine in something as mundane as a regular season road game.
My concern is that he's a gunslinger. There's no doubt it will get him in trouble a few times, that's just the way gunslingers operate. My concerns are (a) that he continues to make far more 'wow' than 'oh shait' throws (b) that if he has a particularly crappy game, he doesn't let it shake his confidence. He needs to keep slinging it and (c) Saban doesn't drop dead of a stroke or heart attack triggered by having a guy like Tua under center.
IMO, the X factor is Enos. Having a proven QB coach who isn't also tied up with trying to call plays right there on the sidelines during games and with him every day at practice is huge and may be the biggest on-the-field hire of all the off season coaching additions.

QB measurements are the biggest over rated thing out there, imo....give me a kid that just has the IT factor...we can teach them to hand off to our 5* RBs later.

Tua isn't your typical 5* QB. This dude is all time special. I know it's early but not even Deshaun Watson has this kind of accuracy. Enjoy it while it lasts and hope he doesn't get hurt. Also hopefully Taulia can at least be close to his brother in ability.

I agree, TUA takes away the "Game Manager" QB stigma; thinking the 2020 QB addition may well be a highly rated 5* (other than Beck) But a full season of TUA and Smith/Ruggs/Juedy/Waddle et al; the eyes of 5* WR's and QB's will be wide open to the aspects of playing at BAMA. (BUT, Enos may have a short run, will be courted for teams looking for OC or maybe even HC

Pay attention to what Tua said in episode 1 of the Rollin with the Tide. He said Enos is a good coach especially for Jalen. I'm paraphrasing. Why do I say that? Tua is at Alabama because his high school OC was June Jones who coached with Saban at the Houston Oilers. Tua is a prodigy who had NFL coaching in high school. Tua could've been a day one starter and we'd still have won a national championship. Tua is an Adrian Peterson level talent but at the QB position.

Exactly. And, as fate would have it Tua received NFL coaching in high school and absorbed it. I call what we see with Tua kismet. It's a combination of great talent, great coaching, and the mental acuity to absorb that coaching.
