Tommy Rees!? For Gods sake

Sports Illustrated and Al.com are both also running that story.
Hiring Rees is unacceptable, tantamount to admitting that the years immediately post Saban are a wash. Norvell would have an uphill battle winning over many of the fans, myself included. DeBoer has the strongest resume of the three but is of course not without question marks himself.

The good thing is that neither of those outlets likely know anything at all.

Alabama hiring Rees as head coach would be a fricking disgrace.

Like Byrne said don't believe anything you hear from anyone but him. Why the hell would Feldman and someone named skinny Kenny have any inside knowledge of who the top 3 are?

Like Byrne said, there would be a lot of rumors. Filing this under my special “shite rumors I don’t want to be true,” folder.

Who the heck is Skinny Kenny?

If we hire Reese, my wife should hide all the guns in the house

If we hired Rees I’d put a brick through Byrne’s window myself and recommend he be hung as a saboteur.
We aren’t hiring Tommy fricking Rees though. Guy has been here for like 12 months and wasn’t even the first choice for OC

Just let me know and I will join you

Yeah… Rees was a barely acceptable hire as an OC. Absolutely not on the same tier of head coaches we should be looking at (elite tier).

Shula got an interview with the Dolphins after Saban was hired and they had no intention of bringing him in. This is nothing but a curtesy interview. I mean Rees agreed to come to Bama thinking Saban still had multiple years left, now dude is either out of a job for a year or has to take something lesser than his previous two stops. Saban probably wants to put his staff in the best possible position for their careers and an interview is not going to hurt anything.

Y’all can look at my post history( IDK how to do that ) and see that I said hiring our next coach after Saban would be difficult …. Hope I am wrong

From the perspective of “big shoes to fill”… absolutely. On the flip side, it’s like handing someone the keys to a Ferrari. Just don’t wreck it and you can outrace almost everyone…
