No, because by all accounts, Tosh was absolutely not ready to take over play-calling responsibilities.

Tosh defense was considered the worst since the '07' team. Even Tosh's defense finished higher ranked than this year's group.

I'm not even really trying to say that Golding is that great, I was simply trying to explain why I thought that Saban was not going to can him. I thought that he did well enough against Oklahoma. Clemson wasn't good, but our offense played like shite as well.

Rumour has it that coach Saban had to snap that bunch into line at halftime in the Michigan game. If true, I really don't think Golding survives it. Either way, I can't think of another game this season that Bama's defense actually made a halftime adjustment and we actually got better.

Eh, they finished like 1 spot higher.

well, excuse me if I'm not basing my opinion on a rumor.

They did against LSU, and technically they did against AU.

I've stated multiple times that I'm not completely sold on Golding either. What have I said that is inaccurate or unreasonable?

I miss the days when announcers would talk about the Bama D being some mysterious wonder where we could bring blitzes that nobody could figure out where from or when they were coming. I'm not sure if the spread offenses have killed that, or just the youth of our D or what. I want to get back to the blitz from every angle kind of D.

Our problems more so than not blitzing is recruiting misses and youth. Kirby and Pruitt took several kids that otherwise would have signed with us. Couple that with devastating injuries and well, here we are.

I've mentioned this on here at least once before, but what the heck, I'm bored.

I remember watching a game in … 2009, I think, in which we employed a blitz I'd never seen before. Probably it's as common as the cold, but I thought it was cool.

At the snap, the DE stood up and acted as though he was trying to fake out the OT. The OT was in his stance, trying to set himself for whatever move the DE would make, when the ILB came barreling in and knocked the OT backwards. The OT never saw him.

The DE then moved through the gap inside the ILB / OT and rushed the QB. He didn't get the sack, but he affected the throw.

It was a neat little coordinated maneuver that took less than two seconds to complete, but I was seriously impressed.

At the senior bowl when asked about upcoming players, Jennings and Lewis both spoke highly of King Mwikuta. Feels like that one guy the outgoing players talk up pretty much always breaks out, so something to look forward to I guess.
