I went back and watched the kick. I used to be a kicker.
Boz is Cade Foster to seek revenge on all of us.

Pappanastos missed chip shot to win a natty is still the GOAT of bad kicks for me though.
Tua redeemed him. Pappas needs to send Tua a Christmas card and birthday card every year for the rest of his life.
We've had so many debacle kicks over the past 15 years or so (minus the obvious good years recently), it is hard to add them up.
IMO, the worst kicking games that were inexcusable are the 2011 GOTC regular season game with LSU and the 2013 Auburn game. And I don't even have to include the infamous kick 6 attempt in that game.

If I’m not mistaken one of the forum rules is never saying that name, ever. Lol

Bama didn't play a perfect game. The missed FG, not getting a TD after the fumble. Neither team played perfectly. I assumed we'd lose after that missed FG.

I keep asking this but never get an answer. What happened to the Lou Groza winner from Miami of Ohio? Is he just not any good?
Last year was his last season of eligibility. He was a grad transfer.

Why our FG kicker has rounded into end of season form for every NC team we have had.

We need to simply go for it on every 4th down in field goal range on November 29th. There is absolutely positively no chance in hell our kicker will make a FG in Jordan-Hare.

Eh, I believe he will be alright 40 and in

The punter was averaging 40 yards with three punts.
He has only punted 8 times. FSU game he averaged almost 50. He's good.

Talty is 4-6 and longest is 46 yards.

The real question is who shite in Boz’s shoe… Anybody?

He struck it - seemingly - with the arch of his foot rather than his toes.
I'm a former soccer player and kicker. You don't kick with your toes. The bone that points up a bit just above your arch is the target spot on your foot for kicking.
Like Boz ,I took a look at it and his plant foot slid forward when he kicked. When that happens contact of any sort is going to be wild.

Good info. I sorta thought when I said toe that I wasn’t right and glad to see my first instinct was correct. However I know hitting it with the arch ain’t it!

I just watched it again and something was definitely off with the approach. The camera cut away but it looked like he did some type of little bunny hop after the kick like something didn’t stick.
IIRC the miss vs FSU was on line but short. I think he’s going to be fine.

Correct. A couple of yards short.

I’ve actually had it happen to me believe it or not. I’m left footed so mine went hard right like his went hard left.
When explaining place kicking to people it’s essentially like taking a swipe with a Pitching Wedge. Your plant foot is key. But as you approach, your plant foot has a lot of force into the ground. If it’s slightly wet or the ground is loose you can slide. If you have noticed a lot of kickers wear two different cleats. That’s the reason why. One for striking one for planting.
